Common use of Comp Time Clause in Contracts

Comp Time. In lieu of accepting overtime pay for hours worked in excess of the normal workday, or in excess of forty (40) hours in one week, an employee may elect to take compensatory time off under the following conditions: (a) One (1) hour of overtime worked provides one and one-half (1½) hours off. (b) In advance of performance of overtime work, comp time must be requested by the employee and approved at the sole discretion of management.
