Common use of Compulsory Check-Off Clause in Contracts

Compulsory Check-Off. 5.01 The Company agrees to deduct Union dues from pay on a weekly basis up to a maximum as set by the Union for all employees certified as the bargaining unit. If any such employee is absent at the time of deduction, the dues for this week are to be deducted together with the next week’s dues. The Company will remit the money thus collected to the Treasurer of the local Union during the month in which the deduction is made.

If any such employee is absent at the time of deduction, (except during periods of layoff), the dues for this week pay period are to be deducted together with the next weekpay period’s dues. The Company will remit the money thus collected to the Treasurer of the local Union during the month in which the deduction is made.
