Department Supervisor Duties. Department Supervisor duties under this Contract are to provide Department Supervisor services consistent with the duties necessary to effectively and smoothly administrate the Department. Such duties include duties as assigned by the Building Principal and Superintendent. Supervisor Duties will be as set forth in the official Position Description (Attached) for the School Nurse Supervisor as amended from time to time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Coordinate the work schedules of building custodians. 2. Direct and assign personnel to specific jobs and tasks within the framework of their job description and work to be completed. 3. Inform principal of major equipment failure, needed repairs and maintenance of building. 4. Submit requests for and maintain inventory of custodial supplies in building. 5. Clean, dust mop, scrub and wax resilient floors as needed to protect floor finish. 6. Dry mop floors in rooms and hallways. 7. Clean and vacuum carpeting in rooms and hallways. 8. Stock machines and/or towel dispensers. 9. Scrub and disinfect shower rooms. 10. Change incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs. 11. Clean blackboards and erasers as assigned. 12. Submit a request for supplies to appropriate supervisor. 13. Clean and scrub water fountains, sinks, bowls, and glass mirrors. 14. Clean snow and ice from all walks and entrances to building. 15. Change air filters on a regularly scheduled basis. 16. Clean carpeting and scrub down walls. 17. Install pencil sharpeners, replace fuses and be accountable for additional minor repairs to building, equipment and furniture. 18. Clean chair and desktops in classrooms and office areas. 19. Clean up leaves, trim shrubs and perform additional minor outside landscaping duties. 20. Check heating and electrical system regularly and report major problems to maintenance staff. 21. Operate floor scrubber and buffer. 22. Assist maintenance department in tasks or on detail where the work load or type of work is commensurate with regular duties. 23. Such duties include duties as assigned by the Building Principal and Superintendent, and include but are not limited to: JOB GOALS: To maintain all school buses in a state of readiness to transport students safely and efficiently during the school year. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Maintain buses in a manner that meets the Indiana State School Bus Inspection Guidelines. 2. Be responsible for mechanical repairs on all school buses and corporation owned vehicles. 3. Maintain a reasonable supply of parts and equipment for all vehicles. 4. Oversee the everyday operation of the transportation department. This may include the following functions: a. Secure parts when requested or as needed. b. Be responsible for the garage and office. c. Pick up and/or deliver buses as required. 5. Possess sufficient knowledge and experience to diagnose and trouble-shoot engine and electrical problems. 6. Understand and possess the knowledge to rebuild brakes, master cylinders, clutches, automatic transmissions, and to overhaul an engine when required. 7. Recognize the need to correct defects and/or replace worn parts and equipment as needed 8. Maintain, diagnose and repair school bus stop arm and warning light systems. 9. Maintain, diagnose and repair air brake systems on Class VI and VII buses and trucks. 10. Maintain, diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic transmission components. 11. Maintain, diagnose and repair electronically controlled diesel engines. 12. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all school buses and corporation owned vehicles which includes oil changes and lubrication. 13. Maintain complete mechanical records on all vehicles repaired or serviced by the transportation department. 14. Participate in continuous training program to update skills. 15. Assist Maintenance Director with snow removal duties. 16. Maintain lawn equipment and snow equipment. 17. Perform such other duties as assigned or requested by the Superintendent.

Such duties include duties as assigned by the Building Principal and Superintendent, and include but are not limited to: Minimum of a high school diploma Experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment Knowledge of HVAC systems Knowledge of safe work practices Strong communication skills Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and meet the physical demands of physical plant maintenance • Examine all buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance. • Establish and recommend priorities on repair projects. • Estimate cost of repair projects in terms of labor, material and time. • Establish and institute a preventative maintenance program for all buildings. • Complete maintenance repairs as needed – personally or by an outside source as situation warrants. • Establish and institute a program for emergency repairs. • Coordinate the ordering of all supplies and materials needed for the continued operation of the building. • Order materials as needed and make recommendations for supply and equipment purchase. This includes the development of specifications and evaluation of bids. • Coordinate the work of outside contractors. • Maintain accurate records. • Communicate effectively with building principals and central office personnel. • Develop and institute a snow removal plan. • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Related to Department Supervisor Duties

  • Department Chairs The release time required to perform the administrative functions of the Department Chair positions shall be deducted from the total workload of the Department Chair with no less than fifty percent (50%) of this release taken from direct instructional duties.

  • Department Chairpersons 17.1 In each elementary, middle and senior high school, the need for department chairpersons/team leaders shall be determined by the principal. Each such department chairperson/team leader shall be appointed for one (1) academic year. If possible, such appointment should be made prior to the end of the preceding academic year. Teachers shall have the right to refuse such appointment. Team leaders will have coordinating and planning functions for their teams and shall serve as liaison between their teams and the principal. They shall not be considered administrative employees. 17.2 When feasible, and after consultation with them, department chairpersons and team leaders will be provided with release time commensurate with the responsibilities assigned to them by their principal.

  • Department’s Contract Manager The Department’s Contract Manager, who is primarily responsible for the Department’s oversight of the Contract, will be identified in a separate writing to the Contractor upon Contract signing in the following format: Department’s Contract Manager Name Department’s Name Department’s Physical Address Department’s Telephone # Department’s Email Address If the Department changes the Contract Manager, the Department will notify the Contractor. Such a change does not require an amendment to the Contract.

  • Site Safety Supervisor 62.1 On every job site, where the Employer is the principal contractor it shall appoint a management representative responsible for safety (Site Safety Supervisor). The Employer will ensure the Site Safety Supervisor has the necessary authority to ensure that all safety laws, procedures or Codes of Practice are observed, and that the following Safety Agreement is applied. 62.2 The Employer when appointing the person appointed as the Site Safety Supervisor must ensure that person has and maintainsthe appropriate experience and knowledge of the safety requirements of the work being performed. Other duties may be assigned by the Employer to a Site Safety Supervisor, provided that such duties shall not prevent him/her from exercising their duties as a Site Safety Supervisor.
