DISTRIBUTION OF FIELD TRIPS. At the beginning of each school calendar year, each Bus Driver shall indicate in writing to the Transportation Supervisor, on forms provided by the Employer, if they desire to be placed on either the Active or Inactive Seniority List, so that the Transportation Supervisor will have an available listing of all the Bus Drivers who desire to take field trips. An employee may also be transferred from either the Active Seniority list to the Inactive Seniority List or from the Inactive to the Active Seniority List at any time during the school year by requesting the form from the Transportation Supervisor and by submitting the proper application to the Transportation Supervisor.

DISTRIBUTION OF FIELD TRIPS. A separate seniority list shall be established for drivers for the purpose of selecting field trips. Field trips will normally be posted and selected on Monday morning for the week beginning the following Monday, when scheduled far enough in advance. If the trips are scheduled late, they may be added to the posting and made available for employees to pick. However, any trips not on the field trip book at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the trips will be considered an emergency trip and will be offered to the most senior employee on a one-trip per day basis. When students are transported on a school bus for a field trip, such trips will be selected by drivers on a weekly basis in accordance with a rotation list by seniority, beginning with the most senior driver. The initial rotation list will be developed at the beginning of each school year and will be ranked by seniority. Employees may request in writing to have their name added to or removed from that list at any time. If a driver asks to be added to the list after the beginning of the school year, his/her name will be added to the bottom of the list, not in order of seniority. For opportunities among those willing to perform extra work, each employee who takes or declines to take an assignment shall be deemed to have taken the assignment for the purpose of offering opportunities on a rotating basis. If the trip hours interfere with the driver's regular route or would result in overtime hours for the driver, the driver will not be deemed to have declined to take an assignment. Only after an attempt has been made to contact each of the bargaining unit drivers on the rotation list to offer them an opportunity on each given assignment, and they have either refused that opportunity or could not be reached, will substitute drivers be offered the opportunity. If no driver on the trip rotation list accepts a particular trip, the Transportation Supervisor has the option either to offer the trip to a substitute driver or to require a driver on the trip rotation list to take the trip. When requiring a driver on the trip rotation list to take a trip, the Transportation Supervisor will first assign the least senior driver on the trip rotation list, then the second least senior, and so on, rotating who is required to drive a trip in reverse seniority order. DISTRIBUTION OF FIELD TRIPS. 44 45 All field trips will be assigned and handed out by 1:00 p.m. on each 46 Tuesday. (If Monday is a holiday, then trips will be assigned and 47 handed out by 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday.) 1 The Dispatcher or his/her designee shall confirm all trips within 48 2 hours prior to being assigned to a bus operator. Thereafter, field trip 5 assignments will be offered to field trip bus operators in order of hours 7 operators in such a manner as to have an annual comparable number of 8 total hours earned by all field trip bus operators. 9 10 All hours earned over contract time will be added to the total of hours 11 earned on the Field Trip List. 12 13 b. TWELVE (12) MONTH EMPLOYEES: 14 15 Twelve (12) month employees will not be assigned mid-day field trip 16 assignments that are scheduled during the week (Monday-Friday). 17 18 Twelve (12) month employees will be passed on mid-day field trip 19 assignments and the field trip will be assigned to the next eligible 20 driver. 22 Twelve (12) month employees will not be penalized with the passed 23 assignment of mid-day field trips and no hours will be charged against 24 their base hours. 25 26 Twelve (12) month employees will be assigned afternoon, evening and 27 weekend trips. Afternoon is defined as beginning at 12:00 pm. 28 29 Twelve (12) month employees can flex schedule their normal work 30 hours not to exceed one and one-half (1.5) hours to accept an 31 afternoon field trip assignment.
