External Professional Activities Clause Samples

The External Professional Activities clause defines the rules and limitations regarding an individual's engagement in professional work outside their primary employment or contractual obligations. Typically, this clause requires employees or contractors to disclose and, in some cases, seek approval before participating in consulting, teaching, or other paid or unpaid professional activities unrelated to their main role. Its core function is to prevent conflicts of interest, ensure that external commitments do not interfere with primary responsibilities, and protect the employer’s proprietary interests.
