Hearing Levels. Level One: An employee alleging a violation of the express terms of this Agreement shall within ten (10) days of its alleged occurrence, orally discuss the grievance with his/her immediate supervisor in an attempt to resolve same. The Association may be notified and a representative thereof may be present with the employee at such meeting.
Hearing Levels. Level 1. An employee and Association having cause for a complaint shall, within five (5) days of its occurrence or knowledge of its occurrence, file a grievance form (Appendix C) with the immediate supervisor. An Association representative may participate if requested by the employee. A copy of the grievance form shall be given to the Association by the grievant at the time of filing. The immediate supervisor shall issue a decision within ten (10) days to the grievant and/or the Association by the immediate supervisor.
Level 2. If the grievance is not resolved or a decision is not issued at Level 1, the employee and Association may file the grievance with the Superintendent within five (5) days.
Level 3. The Association may initiate a hearing by the Board of Education. If a Board hearing is requested, the Board, not later than its next regular meeting or fifteen (15) days, whichever shall be later, shall hold a hearing on the grievance. Disposition of the grievance by the Board shall be issued in writing within ten (10) days after the hearing. The Board’s decision will be final with no further appeal.

Level 2: If a complaint is not resolved in a conference between the affected bargaining unit member(s) and his/her immediate supervisor, the complaint may be formalized as a grievance. A formalized grievance shall be submitted, in writing, within five (5) days of the meeting between the supervisor and the affected bargaining unit member(s). A copy of the grievance shall be sent to the Association and the Superintendent or his designated agent. Within five (5) days of the receipt of the grievance, the Superintendent or his designated agent shall arrange a meeting with the grievant an/or Association representative to discuss the grievance. Within five (5) days of the discussion, the Superintendent or his designated agent shall render his decision in writing, transmitting a copy to the grievant and the Association. Level 3: If the Association is not satisfied with the disposition of the grievance by the Superintendent or his/her designee at ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇, or if no decision has been made within five (5) school days of such meeting, the grievance shall be transmitted to the Board by filing a written copy thereof with the secretary or other designees of the Board. The Board, no later than its next regular meeting or two (2) calendar weeks, whichever shall be later, may hold a hearing on the grievance. Disposition of the grievance in writing by the Board shall be no later than seven (7) days thereafter.

Step One (Informal Level) When a Grievant believes an incident has occurred which would come within the definition of a Grievance, within ten (10) days of such event, the Grievant shall request a meeting with the immediate supervisor in an effort to resolve the Grievance. If the Grievant is not satisfied with the result of the meeting they shall have the right to proceed to Step 2.

INFORMAL LEVEL - When a cause for complaint occurs, the affected bargaining unit member(s) shall request a meeting with his immediate supervisor within fourteen (14) days of the incident in an effort to resolve the complaint. The Union may be notified and a representative thereof present with the bargaining unit member at such meeting. If the bargaining unit member is not satisfied with the result(s) of the meeting, he may formalize the complaint in writing as provided hereunder. (See Appendix B for form.)

Informal Step 1 - When a cause for complaint occurs, the affected employee shall request a meeting with their immediate supervisor within 20 days of the date that the alleged violation occurred or the grievant had knowledge or should have had knowledge, whichever is later, in an effort to resolve the complaint. Such meeting shall take place within ten (10) days of the request. The Association may be notified and a representative thereof present with the employee at such meeting. The immediate supervisor shall have five (5) work days after the informal meeting to respond verbally to the complaint. If the response to the Informal Action is unacceptable to the complainant, the formal procedure may be initiated. Upon mutual agreement of the employee and immediate supervisor, the grievance process may commence at step 2 and step 1 be waived; the written grievance shall be filed within the 20 days specified herein.
Hearing Levels. Step 1: Within ten (10) work days after the date of an alleged occurrence of a grievance, the aggrieved employee will take the matter up with his/her immediate administrator. The employee may request the presence of the representative. The administrator shall send for such representative without undue delay and without further discussion. The administrator shall give an oral answer to the employee within the following five (5) work days.
Step 2: If the matter is not settled at Step 1, the employee and/or Association may submit to the immediate administrator, within the five (5) work days following the oral answer, a written and signed "Statement of Grievance" which shall name the employee involved, state the date of the alleged grievance and the facts giving rise to the grievance, identify all provisions of this Agreement alleged to be violated by reference, state the contention of the employees and of the Association with respect to these provisions and indicate the relief requested. Within five (5) work days following receipt of the written grievance, theadministrator shall hold a meeting with the grievant and Association representative. Within five (5) work days of the meeting, the administrator shall submit a written answer to the employee and the Association. If the matter is settled at Step 2, the employee shall sign the grievance stating that result.
Step 3: If the matter is not settled at Step 2, the grievant and/or Association may appeal the matter within five (5) work days following the receipt of the written disposition of the immediate administrator. Such appeal shall be made by forwarding a copy of the grievance and immediate administrator’s response to the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee. The Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee shall, within five (5) work days after receipt of such grievance, schedule a meeting with the grievant and representatives of the Association. The Superintendent shall answer in writing within five (5) work days of said meeting.
