HOURS OF WORK AND WAGES. 12.01 For the purpose of computing overtime premium pay, a regular work day shall consist of either eight (8) hours, ten (10) hours or twelve (12) hours in a twenty-four (24) hour period beginning at the regular starting time of the employee’s shift. The employee’s work week will be an average of 40 hours per week beginning on Monday at the regular starting time of the shift to which the employee is assigned or may begin on Sunday for C shift. In a Monday through Friday eight (8) hour, three (3) shift operation any classification that does not have an employee that bids or volunteers for steady mid-nights, then that classification shall be a rotating three (3) shift operation. Twelve (12) hour shift schedules will be based on a two (2) week cycle with each employee working three (3) days, thirty-six (36) hours in one week and four (4) days, forty-eight (48) hours, in the next week. The employees will be paid thirty-six (36) hours for thirty-six (36) hours worked, and forty-eight (48) hours at straight time plus two (2) hours at time and one half for the forty-eight hours worked. Employees will work a schedule totaling eighty-four (84) hours over the two (2) week period and will be paid eighty-four (84) hours at straight time plus premium time and time at 1½ times base rate for the four (4) hours scheduled in excess of eighty (80) in the two week period.
