HOURS OF WORK, REST PERIODS AND OVERTIME Clause Samples
The "Hours of Work, Rest Periods and Overtime" clause defines the standard working hours, required rest breaks, and conditions under which overtime may be performed and compensated. Typically, it sets the daily or weekly work schedule, mandates minimum rest periods between shifts, and outlines the rates or procedures for overtime pay. This clause ensures that employees are not overworked, receive adequate rest, and are fairly compensated for extra hours, thereby promoting workplace health, safety, and compliance with labor laws.
