Life-Giving Procedures. 21 Employees may request a schedule adjustment, use accrued leave or request shared leave, 22 as needed for the purpose of participating in life-giving procedures. A “life-giving 23 procedure” is defined as a medically-supervised procedure involving the testing, 24 sampling, or donation of blood, platelets, organs, fluids, tissues, and other human body 25 components for the purposes of donation, without compensation, to a person or 26 organization for medically necessary treatments. 27
