Common use of Local Standards Clause in Contracts

Local Standards. The Local Unions and the Employers shall, within 180 days follow- ing ratification of this Agreement, identify and reduce to writing, and submit to the appropriate Regional Joint Area Committee, those local standards and conditions practiced under this Article. Such standards and conditions when submitted in accordance with this section shall be currently dated. Those local standards and condi- tions previously practiced hereunder which are not submitted shall be deemed to have expired. The appropriate Regional Joint Area Committee shall, not later than 90 days following ratification, adopt a procedure to consider the dis- position of the local standards and conditions submitted including the right to appoint a subcommittee to make recommendations. The Conference Joint Area Committee shall provide to the parties the opportunity to present their views. The Regional Joint Area Com- mittee shall have the sole discretion to determine the disposition of the submitted local standards and conditions which determination shall be referred to the National Grievance Committee for decision which shall be final and binding.
