The 'Movement on Salary Schedule' clause defines the conditions and procedures by which employees can advance to higher pay levels within an established salary schedule. Typically, this advancement is based on factors such as years of service, additional education, or professional development achievements. For example, a teacher may move to a higher pay step after completing a certain number of years or earning a relevant degree. The core function of this clause is to provide a transparent and equitable framework for salary progression, ensuring that employees are rewarded for experience and continued professional growth.
Movement on Salary Schedule. Any calendar year during which a part-time member has completed an assignment at Ohlone College shall count as one "experience year" and will result in advancing the member one step on the part-time salary schedule, effective at the start of the Spring semester of the immediately following year, regardless of which semester/term the member began employment. If the part- time member is not employed in the Spring semester of the immediately following year, the step increase will be applied upon return to part-time employment, regardless of whether the return is in a later semester/term of the immediately following year or in a subsequent year.
Movement on Salary Schedule. 8.4.1 After initial employment, no individual will advance more than one step in the experience column in any one year.
8.4.2 Faculty who have worked for the District for at least one school year may qualify for column movement by completing pre-approved additional course work to meet the requirements of the next class (column). The process for acquiring approval of course work and enactment of column movement is described in Section 8.5.
8.4.3 Faculty will be advanced from one class to another at the beginning of the Fall Semester only. Faculty proposing to move from one class to another must provide official evidence of completion of requirements prior to the first day of duty for the Fall Semester.
8.4.4 Faculty members who move to the next column are compensated at the new salary rate commencing the Fall Semester they requested movement and were deemed qualified.
8.4.5 Column movement shall be lateral from one column to the next. (For example, the faculty member moves from Class II, Step 5 to Class III, Step 5.) No faculty member may increase his/her step within a column as a result of taking additional courses. Advancement to the next step occurs after one year of service within the new class and each year thereafter to the maximum salary in that column.
Movement on Salary Schedule. A Food Service Worker whose employment begins between July 1 and December 31 will be eligible to advance to the next level on the salary schedule at the start of the school year after employment. A Food Service Worker whose employment begins between January 1 and June 30 will be eligible to advance to the next level on the salary schedule at the start of the second school year after employment Upon completion of each Work Year thereafter, a Food Service Worker will advance to the next level on the salary schedule effective at the start of the school year, subject to the terms of this Agreement.
Movement on Salary Schedule. A Security Guard whose employment begins between July 1 and December 31 will be eligible to advance to the next level on the salary schedule on the first July 1 after employment. A Security Guards whose employment begins between January 1 and June 30 will be eligible to advance to the next level on the salary schedule on the second July 1 after employment. Upon completion of each Work Year thereafter, a Security Guards will advance to the next level on the salary schedule effective July 1, subject to the terms of this Agreement.
Movement on Salary Schedule. A teacher will be moved from one position on the salary schedule to another only during the school year; and not between June 1 and the first pay of the next school year. All moves shall be initiated by a written request from the teacher to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and be followed by an official transcript. The pay change will be effective within two (2) pay periods following the receipt of letter to the Human Resources office. Pay will not be retroactive for failure by the teacher to submit written request for advancement on the salary schedule within the same school year. Members who are less than half time will move a half step on the salary schedule every year.
Movement on Salary Schedule. For the purpose of movement on the salary schedule, members who work less than a full school year in ▇▇▇▇▇▇ under contract shall receive credit as follows:
1. No experience credit if the number of days worked during the school year is forty-six (46) or less.
2. One-half (1/2) year experience credit if the number of days worked during the school year is more than forty-six (46) and less than one hundred thirty-nine (139).
3. One year experience credit if the number of days worked during the school year is one hundred thirty-nine (139) or more.
4. Sick days will be included when computing the number of days worked.
Movement on Salary Schedule. A Custodian whose employment begins between July 1 and December 31 will be eligible to advance to the next level on the salary schedule on the first July 1 after employment. A Custodian whose employment begins between January 1 and June 30 will be eligible to advance to the next level on the salary schedule on the second July 1 after employment. Upon completion of each Work Year thereafter, a Custodian will advance to the next level on the salary schedule effective July 1, subject to the terms of this Agreement.
Movement on Salary Schedule. The following rules shall be applicable in determining movement on the salary schedule:
6.7.1 Grades and Credits for Teachers Hired Prior to the 2020-2021 School Year: Only graduate credits shall be applied toward advancement on the salary schedule, except as noted below. All credits must carry a passing grade and be earned by the teacher completing courses related to their teaching field or as part of a definite career plan in the field of education. Undergraduate credits may be used toward advancement on the salary schedule upon the prior approval of the Superintendent or designee, whose decision shall be final and binding. ISD 196 graduate credit as provided in Section 6.7.3 may also apply. A teacher’s application for lane change to MA lane will be based on the following parameters: Master’s degrees meeting the requirements of this Section that require 60 quarter credits or less shall be placed at the MA lane. For Master’s degrees meeting the requirements of this Section that require more than 60 quarter credits, the additional credits in excess of the required 60 quarter credits shall be eligible to be applied to the MA lane and lanes beyond the MA lane. Credits taken prior to the Master’s degree that are not required as part of the Master’s degree cannot be eligible to lanes beyond the MA lane. A teacher’s application for lane change to MA lane will be based on the following parameters: Master’s degrees meeting the requirements of this Section that require 60 quarter credits or less shall be placed at the MA lane. For Master’s degrees meeting the requirements of this Section that require more than 60 quarter credits, the additional credits in excess of the required 60 quarter credits shall be eligible to be applied to the MA lane and lanes beyond the MA lane.
Movement on Salary Schedule. A. Education Movement. Only 300 level college credit classes, or higher, obtained by a teacher from an accredited institution shall apply towards horizontal advancement on the salary schedule, provided said teacher has received prior approval in writing from the Board that said course or courses are of value both to the teacher and to the District, including on-line courses (distance learning). Approved technology courses of any college level shall apply to horizontal advancement on the salary schedule. Six (6) credit hours of junior college level courses shall equate to three (3) hours for horizontal advancement purposes on the salary schedule. There shall be no tuition reimbursement for junior college level courses. The maximum number of credit hours at the junior college level which a teacher may have, for purposes of this section, while an employee of this district, is six (6). Course approval decisions by the Board shall be nonprecedential. Horizontal advancement on the salary schedule shall only take place at the beginning of the school year. Said teacher shall be responsible for providing the Superintendent with a properly certified transcript evidencing that such course work has been successfully completed and such transcript must be presented prior to the 10th day of September for the new school year. No teacher shall be allowed more than one (1) column movement across on the Salary Schedule as described in this Section 3.5 A.
Movement on Salary Schedule a. Upon the submission of verifiable evidence (e.g., grade slips, letters from professors, etc. that would be verifiable once an official transcript is available) of additional training credit, adjustments shall be made for CLSMs who complete additional course-work and wish to advance on the salary schedule during the school year at the semester break. Said evidence shall be submitted to the Superintendent four (4) weeks after the end of the first semester. Payment will be one-half the yearly increment allowable, and the adjustment will be reflected in the first regular pay in March.
b. If the verifiable evidence of additional training credit is received by the Superintendent's office by October 1, the CLSM will qualify for 100% of the yearly increment allowable, and the adjustment will be reflected in the second regular pay in October.
c. Movement to the Master’s column of the salary schedule shall occur, according to the above time schedule, based on the date of graduation or evidence on an official transcript indicating that the Master’s degree has been awarded.
d. Further, any CLSM who has one hundred twenty (120) days or more of experience within one (1) school year shall be granted a one-year experience increment on the salary schedule. Additionally, any CLSM who earns 90+ days credit in each of two (2) or more school years in Maumee City Schools shall be granted a one-year experience increment on the salary schedule.
