Common use of Normal Workweek and Workday Clause in Contracts

Normal Workweek and Workday. The normal workweek for full-time employees shall consist of forty (40) hours per week. The normal workday for full-time employees shall consist of eight (8) hours of work, excluding a one-half (1/2) hour lunch period, unless at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the posting of the work schedule the employee notifies the Director or his designee of his/her desire not to have a lunch period. If at least twenty-four (24) hours notice prior to the posting of the work schedule is given to the Director, employees may, at their option, combine their coffee breaks for one and one-half (1-1/2) hour break in the mid-point of their shift. This combined break would be in lieu of coffee breaks afforded the employee in Section 15.9 of this Agreement and may only be used for a rest or meal break.
