Notice of Substantial Completion and Inspection Clause Samples

The Notice of Substantial Completion and Inspection clause defines the process by which a contractor formally notifies the owner that a project or a significant portion of it is sufficiently complete to be used for its intended purpose. Typically, this clause outlines the steps for issuing the notice, scheduling a joint inspection, and identifying any remaining work or deficiencies that need to be addressed. Its core function is to establish a clear milestone for project completion, triggering final inspections and the transition of responsibilities, while also providing a structured method for documenting outstanding items and ensuring both parties agree on the project's status.
