Official Languages Clause Samples

Official Languages. (a) Appointments and transfers shall be subject to the Corporate Official Languages Policy, as it may be amended from time to time. (b) The parties agree to study the feasibility of developing a program to facilitate the exchange of employees who wish to improve their proficiency in the other official language.

Official Languages. The Recipient agrees that any public acknowledgement of the Minister’s public support for the Project will be expressed in both official languages.

Official Languages. (a) In the event that the Land Trust is preparing communications related to the Project or the Program for wide distribution or for a wide scale activity (e.g. national or provincial) then it must be made available in both official languages. This includes press releases, project materials (handouts, newsletters, reports, etc.), advertisements and event invitations. (b) If the communication is for local distribution only, then unilingual English or French is acceptable, except where inclusion of official language minority communities is appropriate. If the inclusion of official language minority communities is appropriate, reasonable effort in both official languages is required for all communications. Where the Land Trust is preparing communications related to the Project or the Program for local distribution only: I. Unilingual English or French is acceptable, except when inclusion of official language minority communities is appropriate. For the purpose of this agreement, official language minority communities are defined as English speaking majority communities with at least 5% French speakers or French majority communities with at least 5% English speakers. As per the 2016 Census: Population by mother tongue and age groups (total), percentage distribution (2016), for Canada and census subdivisions (municipalities) with 5,000-plus population.

Official Languages. Position language requirements and the selection of candidates to meet those requirements shall be in accordance with Corporate Official Language Policies.

Official Languages. The Recipient agrees: (a) that any public acknowledgement of the Agency’s support for the Project will be expressed in both official languages; (b) that basic Project information will be developed and made available in both official languages; (c) to invite members of the official-language minority community to participate in any public event relating to the Project, where appropriate; (d) that main signage components related to the Project will be in both official languages; and (e) that it shall pay for all translation costs save for those which the Minister may incur with respect to any announcement or other public communications.

Official Languages. 1. Both the English and French versions of the Collective Agreement shall be official and definitive versions. Both parties may use either the English or the French version in any proceedings arising out of the Collective Agreement, and shall apply the version of the Collective Agreement in which formal grievance/arbitration proceedings were initiated. 2. The Parties agree to cooperate to have the Collective Agreement translated within ninety (90) days from the version negotiated at the table into the other official language of Canada. The Parties will share equally in the cost of the translation.

Official Languages. The Recipient agrees that: a) all bilingual requirements for joint funding announcements, and any communications activity led by Canada, will be managed by Infrastructure Canada. b) it will provide its services, when appropriate, in such a manner as to accommodate the specific needs of both official language communities.
