Out of Classification Differential Pay. Upon specific written assignment by the City Manager or his/her designee, an employee may be required, during a recruitment process for an unfilled position of a higher classification, to perform the duties in a job classification for which the rate of pay is greater than the employee's regular rate of pay. An employee so assigned for more than five (5) consecutive days shall receive an additional five percent (5%) of his or her base wage for all hours worked in such assignment. An employee so assigned shall not suffer any loss of benefits due to such assignment. Time worked in a higher rank shall not be credited toward the completion of probationary requirements in the higher rank.
