Part-Time (Temporary). Whether instructional or non-instructional, day or extended day, part-time (temporary) members have no office hour requirements. Part-time faculty, at the member’s option, may elect to serve the following office hours per week based on the following loads: .2 to .399 load: one-half hour; .4 to .599 load: one hour;
Part-Time (Temporary). Member may be employed by the District as an Instructor for sixty-seven percent (67%) or less of a full-time teaching load, as defined in Appendix B, and shall be classified as Part-Time Temporary. Such Faculty Member shall not become a contract (probationary) or regular (permanent) employee of the District while so employed, and may be assigned or not assigned such course, or courses, from semester to semester as the District may determine. Program needs and past successful experience in the District will be among the factors considered in determining class assignments for Part-Time Faculty Members. Such determinations are not grievable. Part-time faculty should be considered to be an integral part of their departments and are encouraged to participate in department and college activities and, at the discretion of the District, afforded utilization of supplies, equipment and professional development activities.
Part-Time (Temporary). If there is sufficient proof that an employee shall be absent more than one (1) day, temporary help may be used beginning the first day. Part-time or temporary help may be used to replace employees immediately who are on vacation and sick leave planned 48-hours in advance beginning the first day.

Part-Time (Temporary). An employee hired part-time on a monthly rate of pay to perform work of a temporary nature in connection with a specific project, projects, work overload or seasonal peaks for a period of less than six months or other situations mutually agreed by the Parties. Part-time temporary employees will work according to an assigned schedule but will not work more than 30 hours per week. Services of temporary staff employees may be terminated by giving or receiving one weeks’ notice. The employee will participate in Benefit Plans in accordance with Article 21. Annual vacation entitlements and sick leave entitlements shall be prorated on the basis of time worked. Statutory holiday pay shall be paid each pay period on the basis of the appropriate percentage of gross earnings for that pay period. Part-time temporary employees shall not be entitled to Reduced Work Week Leave provisions as provided in Article 10 of the Agreement but will be entitled to 6.52% of straight time base rate biweekly earnings as defined in Subsection 10.01 (f) paid on a biweekly basis in lieu of Reduced Work Week Leave. Part-time temporary employees shall progress through salary steps on the basis of accumulated service.
Part-Time (Temporary). All part-time faculty shall hold regularly scheduled office hours in proportion to their teaching assignment as follows: one office hour per week for every 20% load, rounded to the nearest half hour, up to a maximum of five office hours. Where a part-time faculty member’s load results in an office-hour obligation exactly between two half hours, the member should round up. Faculty teaching online courses may, at their option, hold scheduled office hours online in the same ration as their online courses are to their total semester load. In addition, 7.8.2 and all provisions of 7.8.5 apply to part-time as well as full-time faculty.

  • Temporary Layoffs A. The Employer may initiate a temporary layoff for up to twelve (12) working days per fiscal year. Employees will be given thirty (30) days’ notice before the effective date of a temporary layoff. Employees may request alternative temporary layoff days from their manager or supervisor and any requests will be considered and approved or denied in writing. B. A temporary layoff will not affect an employee’s incremental movement, vacation and sick leave accrual rates, or seniority. C. A temporary layoff is leave without pay. An employee may not use any leave for a temporary layoff day(s).
