Professional Development for Teachers. In accordance with Florida Statutes, the School Board and the College will work collaboratively to design professional development opportunities for secondary and College faculty and staff, focusing on local and state needs and responding to state, national, and district policy and program priorities.

Finally, the DIA will expand its popular program of teacher open houses, which bring teachers into the museum to meet DIA educators and curators, sample tours and discuss issues with their peers. These events include an informal reception and would be available to Oakland teachers without charge.

Following expenditure of the funds set forth in sections 2(a), (b) and (c) above, the balance of one-time carryover funds attributable to the 2008-2009 school year Proposition A revenue will remain as a reserve to offset the future cost of the professional development days to whatever degree they are not fully funded by the state until such time as the carryover funds are fully expended, or the parties reach agreement to fully fund such days with an ongoing revenue stream, or June 30, 2013, whichever occurs first.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members. (b) Information collected as part of this program shall be the sole property of the faculty member.
