Professional Development Pay. Assistants who attend professional development and/or inservice during their regularly scheduled working hours will be paid at their regular rate of pay. The parties agree that during the term of this agreement: Each LEA noon assistant shall receive a minimum of 3 hours of professional development; and (b) all other LEA members shall receive a minimum of 6 hours of professional development. Assistants who are authorized by their building administrator to attend additional professional development and/or inservice during district designated professional development days shall be compensated at their normal pay rate.
Professional Development Pay. The District shall pay teachers who, at the request of the District and with the agreement of the teacher, train other District employees or engage in district-required professional development outside the regular contract hours. Professional development outside of the District, i.e. conferences requiring travel, State Conferences, and National conferences are excluded. The rate of pay for such Teacher duties shall be .00080 x the base Teacher pay per hour.
Professional Development Pay. 1. Each school year, the district shall publish offerings of at least thirty (30) hours of required district provided professional development (DPPD) which shall be offered during the regularly scheduled workday and may be used by teachers in the renewal of his/her teaching certificate. The district will maintain a list of such offerings and identify the Michigan Department of Education (“MDE”) category for each professional development session offered by the district. 2. Offerings for professional learning activities occurring outside the regularly scheduled workday shall be designated as approved or optional. When designated as approved by a member of the Central Leadership Team, teachers shall be compensated. When designated as optional, or when professional learning activities are proposed by building principal, immediate supervisor or self-selected by a teacher, teachers shall be compensated only with prior approval by a Central Leadership Team member. Compensation shall be at the regular teacher rate of $35/hour.
Professional Development Pay. Assistants who attend professional development and/or in-service during their regularly scheduled working hours will be paid at their regular rate of pay. The parties agree that during the term of this agreement, each LEA noon assistant may receive three (3) hours of professional development; and all other LEA members may receive six (6) hours of professional development. Assistants who are authorized by their building administrator to attend additional professional development and/or in-service during district designated professional development days shall be compensated at their normal pay rate. Workshop Pay. Assistants who attend workshops during non-working hours will be paid at their regular hourly rate. All Assistants attending workshops during non-working hours must receive advance written approval from the applicable administrator to qualify for payment.
Professional Development Pay. Effective September 1, 2010, and for the duration of the contract, 1.0 FTE staff will be eligible to receive up to twenty-five (25) hours of staff development per year paid at the professional hourly rate.

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members. (b) Information collected as part of this program shall be the sole property of the faculty member. This information or any judgments arising from this program shall not be used to determine non-renewal or termination of a faculty member's contract, suspension or dismissal of a faculty member, denial of advancement on the salary scale, nor affect any other administrative decisions pertaining to the promotion or employment status of the faculty member. (c) A joint advisory committee consisting of three regular faculty members who shall be elected by and are P.D. Committee Chairpersons and three administrators shall make recommendations for the operation, financing and management of the Professional Development Program.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.
