Promotion or Reclassification to Non-supervisory Classification. An employee who is promoted to a non-supervisory classification, or whose position has been reclassified to a higher level, but remains non–supervisory, shall receive a salary at the first step of the higher class or at the step which provides for at least a five percent (5%) increase over his/her base salary prior to such promotion. If an increase equal to 5% should exceed the last step of the new range (Step 5), the employee shall be promoted to the last step of the new range (Step 5).
