PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. 1) Current annual wage is defined as the salary paid to the employee on the date immediately prior to the date of reclassification or promotion.
2) Employees who are reclassified or promoted within their career field to a new or different pay grade shall receive an increase of a minimum of five percent (5%) to a maximum of ten percent (10%) more than the above- stated current annual wage, except in the event that step one of the new salary grade is ten percent (10%) above the current annual wage said employee shall be placed in step one of the new salary grade.
3) If there is no step in the new salary grade that is between five and ten percent (5%-10%) higher than the current annual wage, said employee shall receive an annual salary increase of seven and one-half percent (7.5%) which shall be effective the first full pay period following promotion or reclassification. On said employee's next anniversary date (which is one (1) year following the effective date of reclassification or promotion), he/she shall be eligible to advance to the next step on the salary scale which is larger than said employee's salary at that time.
4) In the event that an employee would receive less money as a result of reclassification or promotion than he/she would have received over the next calendar year if he/she had not been reclassified or promoted, then the UNION and EMPLOYER shall meet to resolve same.
5) In no event will the new salary exceed the maximum of the salary grade.
6) Employees who are not promoted within their career field, but who go on to a different career field, shall be compensated as specified in Section 1B of ARTICLE XXX. In the event there is a dispute regarding whether or not the change is or is not within one's career field, the EMPLOYER and the UNION shall meet to resolve same.
PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. A. An employee who is promoted to a position of higher classification, but after a reasonable period of time not exceeding six (6) months is unable to demonstrate a satisfactory level of performance in that position, shall be entitled to return to a position comparable to the one held prior to his/her promotion providing a vacancy exists. In such case, the employee will be placed on the salary schedule at the salary step s/he would have realized had the promotion not occurred.
B. For the purpose of this Article, “promotion” shall mean the assignment of an employee from their present position to a position having a higher salary classification than the one previously held. Reclassification shall mean that a position occupied by an employee is changed to a higher salary classification but the employee remains in the position. An employee who is promoted or reclassified shall be placed on the salary schedule at a salary level not less than the salary of the next step on the salary column previously occupied. If the employee was on the maximum step of a salary column, then s/he shall be placed at a salary level closest to but not less than his/her previous salary and shall receive one (1) additional step.

a. The hire rate of the new position's grade; or
b. Placement on the step in the new position's grade that results in the, greatest base salary for the applicable fiscal year not in excess of a five percent (5%) increase above the Employee's current salary;-provided however, that, to the extent such new base salary is less than five percent (5%) above the Employee's current salary, the difference between such new salary and the current salary plus five percent (5%) shall be paid to the Employee in a lump sum that is not added to the Employee's new base salary.

PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. 7.1 Seniority shall be given first consideration in a reclassification to a different job when the individuals being considered have substantially the same qualifications to efficiently and effectively perform the work.
7.2 The Company reserves the exclusive right to make selections of employees for promotion to positions not covered by the Agreement.
7.3 The Company will provide the Union with notification of the successful candidate selected for jobs filled under the provisions of this Article.
PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. When an employee is promoted or reclassified to a position in a higher pay range, his/her wage rate shall be increased to the step in the new pay range which most closely resembles the current wage rate of the employee plus two steps or to the minimum of the pay range whichever is higher. The employee shall serve the probationary period required for the position by Section 10.3. At the end of the probationary period, the employee shall be given a performance review and appropriate merit increase. This will establish the employee’s new anniversary date. TRANSFERS: When an employee takes a position in a lower pay range by choice, he/she will be paid at a step within the pay range of the new classification. PROMOTIONS AND RECLASSIFICATIONS. Promotions and reclassifications shall be based on seniority, ability, and qualifications. Ability and qualifications being equal, seniority shall prevail.
16.1.1 The Company will provide the Union with notification of the successful candidate selected for jobs filled under the provisions of this Section 15.1.
16.1.2 Should an employee decline a promotion, it shall have no effect on the employee’s future promotions.
16.1.3 An employee promoted or reclassified to a new position will be given up to ninety (90) calendar days to demonstrate qualifications and ability. If the employee does not qualify within such time, the employee will be returned to the position formerly held.
