PROTECTIVE SECURITY. It is recognized that all members of the Union and the Company are required to comply with all protective security measures now in effect. If the Company is notified by DOE that this Contract in any way violates security measures which are now in effect, or which may be put into effect later, the Company shall in turn immediately notify the Union in writing of the need to renegotiate the section or sections of the Contract in question for the purpose of making the required changes.

No person will be cleared for such information except where the information is necessary for performance of work desired by the Government. It is recognized that the Company has agreed not to employ any person designated by the Government whose employment is considered prejudicial to the Government and to remove from work and exclude from the area any person whose continued employment is deemed by the Government to be prejudicial to the interest of the Government. Furthermore, all members of the Union, the Company and all employees of the Company are required to comply with all protective security regulations now in effect or as may be promulgated at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The Arbitration Committee provided for in Article IV of this Contract shall not make any decisions that conflict with security regulations adopted by the Department of Energy.
