Reasonable Overtime. The University may require an employee to work reasonable overtime at the applicable rates prescribed in this Agreement. An employee will not be required to work overtime if the employee satisfies the University that they cannot work that overtime. Wherever possible, an employee will be given at least 48 hours of notice of the overtime. An employee may refuse to work overtime in circumstances where the working of such overtime would result in the employee working hours which are unreasonable having regard to: (i) any risk to the employee's health and safety; (ii) the employee's personal circumstances including any family responsibilities; (iii) the needs of the University; (iv) the notice (if any) given by the University of the overtime and by the employee of their intention to refuse it; and (v) any other relevant matter.
