The Reduced Work Time clause establishes the conditions under which an employee’s standard working hours may be decreased, either temporarily or permanently. Reduced Work Time. Employees are hereby noticed that they may participate in a reduced work time program pursuant to Government Code Sections 19996.20 through 19996.24. Alleged violations of these Government Code Sections shall be appealable through the grievance procedure, but are not arbitrable.
Reduced Work Time. Employees who voluntarily reduce their work time pursuant to the Reduced Worktime Act, shall have right of return to full-time employment pursuant to Government Code Section 19996.24 and Department of Personnel Administration Rule 599.836.

  • Work Time Work time is defined as all hours actually spent in pay status including travel time required by and at the direction of the Employer before, during or after the regularly-assigned workday.

  • Break Time For daily work assignments of six or more hours, permanent and probationary employees (except bus drivers and bus aides) shall be entitled to one 15-minute break for each half of the work assignment. For work assignments of less than six hours, such employees shall be entitled to one 15-minute break. Employees who spend a majority of the workday working with a Video Display Terminal (VDT) shall be permitted to perform other job-related duties (i.e., work not involving use of a VDT) 10 continuous minutes out of each hour. Such time shall not be cumulative and shall be in addition to break time established above.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Start Date The parental leave must begin no later than 52 weeks after the day the child is born or comes into the custody, care and control of the parent for the first time for provincially or federally regulated employees. The parental leave of an employee who takes a pregnancy leave must begin when the pregnancy leave ends unless the child has not yet come into the care and control of the parent for the first time.

  • Work Day and Work Week The normal work day shall consist of up to 8 hours of work within a 24-hour period. The normal work week shall consist of up to 40 hours of work within a 7-day period. The Employer may define the work week on an individual, department, shift or facility basis in accordance with Federal and State law.
