Requests for Vacation. 13.2.2.1 Employees may submit a vacation request in writing at any time during the fiscal year. The request may include one or more proposed vacation times.
13.2.2.2 The County Office shall respond to the request within five (5) working days.
13.2.2.3 If all of the employee’s proposed vacation times are denied, the employee may meet with his/her supervisor within five (5) working days thereafter to determine the vacation schedule.
13.2.2.4 If the parties cannot mutually agree on a vacation schedule, the employee may appeal through the grievance procedure at Level Two.

Once a vacation request is approved, an Employee cannot alter their approved vacation time, unless a request to do so is approved by the Employer.
Requests for Vacation. An employee may request and use vacation with pay at the rate in effect for each day of vacation period, including shift differential, subject to the following conditions:
1. The Employer shall have the right to establish a vacation schedule determining the number of employees allowed vacation on given dates.
2. The vacation year shall be defined as a twelve (12) month period beginning April 1st and ending the following March 31st.
3. Seniority within class shall prevail for any requests received prior to March 15th for dates in the following vacation year.
4. For requests received after March 15th, first come, first serve shall prevail. In the event two or more requests are received on the same day for the same available dates, seniority as defined in 3. above shall then prevail.
5. Requests made within seven (7) days of the requested day off will be covered with voluntary overtime or the request will be denied.
6. When possible, every effort shall be made to accommodate vacation requests beyond those parameters. When not possible, reasoning will be provided to the employee.
Requests for Vacation. All unit members are entitled to request vacation time at their discretion. Such requests shall be granted on the basis of seniority of the unit member and the approval of the Superintendent. Substitutes will be provided for all 12-month, full-time vacationing employees when school is in session.
