Common use of Second Shift Clause in Contracts

Second Shift. There shall be a .75 cents per hour premium for second shift employees as determined by the Superintendent. There will be no loss of second shift pay premium to custodial staff when they are required to work a day shift following a night shift. Seniority is established on the date of hire on a regular basis by the Board of Education. The administration reserves the right to select the most qualified person for any position. Seniority shall be lost when a bargaining unit member retires or resigns; is non-renewed or terminated; or otherwise leaves the employment of the Board. Qualified classified employees will be provided with annuitized SERS deductions.
