Research shows that learners who feel heard by the educational establishment are more involved not only in their own education but also in the education of their children. A shared decision-making process is integral to ABE Program accountability. Accountability for student progress is incorporated into the content and performance standards and assessments that are aligned with the curriculum. The main component of professional accountability is the Professional Development Continuum (PDC). Program accountability includes, but is not limited to, the Minnesota Adult Basic Education Annual Performance Report and the MPS Community Education Department Improvement Plan (DIP).
