Shift Determination Clause Samples

The Shift Determination clause defines how work shifts are assigned or scheduled for employees under the agreement. Typically, this clause outlines the process by which shifts are allocated, who has the authority to determine shift times, and any notice requirements for changes to scheduled shifts. For example, it may specify that management will set weekly schedules and communicate them to staff at least one week in advance. The core function of this clause is to provide clarity and predictability regarding work hours, helping both employers and employees plan accordingly and reducing disputes over scheduling.
