Student Behavior & Discipline. A. Philosophy - The District and the Association recognize the importance of clearly defined policies and procedures concerning student behavior and discipline in a quality educational environment. The purpose of the Student Discipline Guidelines, as published by the District, is to guide students toward acceptable forms of behavior, develop and strengthen their ability to promote self-discipline, and facilitate a suitable environment for instruction. It is the intention of the District and the Association that Bargaining Unit Members and administrators work in a mutually supportive manner to establish and maintain appropriate student behavior and discipline. B. The parties understand that it is the exclusive right of the Board of Education to develop and issue student disciplinary guidelines. C. Student Behavior and Discipline - General Responsibilities 1. A written description of the rights and responsibilities of all Bargaining Unit employees with respect to student behavior and discipline as defined within the Student Discipline Guidelines of the Parent/Student Handbook shall be made available online by the District or presented to each teacher by the building administrator or designee at the beginning of each school year. 2. The administrator shall make the Bargaining Unit employee aware of his/her response to the student disciplinary referral.
Student Behavior & Discipline. (ref. Policy 3043) Staff members have the authority to refer students to the office for violations of the Student Expectations Code. The administrator and staff member are mutually responsible for communicating as soon as possible regarding disciplinary action per the Student Expectations Code. All employees of the district shall share responsibility for supervising the behavior of the students and for seeing that they meet the standards of conduct which have been or may hereafter be established by the Board. When necessary, any employee of the district may engage in reasonable physical restraint of students to maintain orderly student conduct as outlined in §563.061 RSMo. The District shall annually review and evaluate the Student Expectation Code and develop strategies for its implementation. Staff input shall be sought during this process. All employees of the district shall annually receive instruction related to the specific contents of the district's discipline policy and any interpretations necessary to implement the provisions of the policy in the course of their duties, including but not limited to approved methods of dealing with acts of school violence, disciplining students with disabilities, and instruction in the necessity and requirements for confidentiality. The parties understand that it is the exclusive right of the Board of Education to develop and issue student disciplinary guidelines.
Student Behavior & Discipline. Contractor will notify the School in the event any Student behaves in a manner which (i) creates an unsafe condition for the Contractor, any Qualified Driver or any other Students; (ii) to the best of Contractor’s knowledge, is in violation of Applicable Law or any of the Student Bus Policies; or (iii) results in any damage or repairs to any vehicle used by Contractor or any Qualified Driver to provide the Services hereunder (each event, a “Student Safety Incident”). The School and Contractor agree to discuss all Student Safety Incidents following Contractor’s notification thereof, and to work together in good faith to correct the situation; provided, however, that except as otherwise described herein, only the School shall have the authority to suspend or expel a Student from the bus or School or to otherwise discipline a Student. The ultimate responsibility and authority to suspend or expel any pupil from transportation services hereunder shall rest with School. Contractor's Qualified Drivers are responsible only for such discipline as is required to properly and safely operate Contractor's buses. Each Qualified Driver shall handle all disciplinary matters in strict accordance with School policy. In no case will a Qualified Driver eject a pupil from a bus for misbehavior except in the event of an extreme emergency endangering the safety of other pupils or driver and then only after radio notice to Contractor's terminal and to the pupil's building or school principal. In all cases of disciplinary ejection, the bus shall remain at the approximate area of student discharge until authorities arrive on site and authorize it to proceed on route. All discipline problems shall be reported in writing by the next school day following completion of the route. The School and Contractor will, in the event Contractor determines that a pupil poses a danger to himself/herself or other passengers, cooperate to provide a safe transportation environment prior to Contractor being required to transport such pupil.

  • Student Discipline a) CONTRACTOR shall maintain and abide by a written policy for student discipline that is consistent with state and federal law and regulations. Using forms developed by the California Department of Education or as otherwise mutually agreed upon by CONTRACTOR and ▇▇▇, CONTRACTOR shall provide LEA, on a monthly basis, a written report of all incidents in which a statutory offense is committed by any LEA student, regardless if it results in a disciplinary action of suspension or expulsion. This includes all statutory offenses as described in Education Codes 48900 and 48915. CONTRACTOR shall also include, in this monthly report, incidents resulting in the use of a behavioral restraint and/or seclusion even if they were not a result of a violation of Education Code Sections 48900 and 48915. b) When NPS CONTRACTOR seeks to remove a LEA student from his/her current educational placement for disciplinary reasons, CONTRACTOR shall immediately submit a written discipline report to the LEA. Written discipline reports shall include, but not be limited to: the LEA student’s name; the time, date, and description of the misconduct; the disciplinary action taken by CONTRACTOR; and the rationale for such disciplinary action. A copy of the LEA student’s behavior plan, if any, shall be submitted with the written discipline report. CONTRACTOR and ▇▇▇ agree to participate in a manifestation determination at an IEP/IFSP meeting no later than the tenth (10th) day of suspension. ▇▇▇ shall notify and invite CONTRACTOR representatives to the IEP/IFSP team meeting where the manifestation determination will be made.

  • STATEWIDE ACHIEVEMENT TESTING When CONTRACTOR is a NPS, per implementation of Senate Bill 484, CONTRACTOR shall administer all Statewide assessments within the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (“CAASPP”), Desired Results Developmental Profile (“DRDP”), California Alternative Assessment (“CAA”), achievement and abilities tests (using LEA-authorized assessment instruments), the Fitness Gram, , the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (“ELPAC”), and as appropriate to the student, and mandated by LEA pursuant to LEA and state and federal guidelines. CONTRACTOR is subject to the alternative accountability system developed pursuant to Education Code section 52052, in the same manner as public schools. Each LEA student placed with CONTRACTOR by the LEA shall be tested by qualified staff of CONTRACTOR in accordance with that accountability program. ▇▇▇ shall provide test administration training to CONTRACTOR’S qualified staff. CONTRACTOR shall attend LEA test training and comply with completion of all coding requirements as required by ▇▇▇.

  • Discipline Disciplinary grievances will be initiated at the level at which the disputed action was taken.

  • Discipline Policy A Discipline Policy Committee will be formed upon the request of the Association or the Board of Education. The committee will be comprised of members appointed by the Board and the Association. By the appropriate means determined by the Board, families will be informed of the District's policies regarding student behavior and discipline procedures. The foregoing committees, study groups, or faculty councils shall serve as advisory, consultative and fact-finding bodies only, and the Board shall not be required to adopt any of the recommendations submitted. The Board agrees, however, that the Association and the teachers shall have the right to submit recommendations and views on these subjects.
