Surface Deadhead. 1. Surface deadhead shall be any Company directed non-local ground travel scheduled for one (1) hour or more between two airports, including ground travel from a hotel adjacent to an airport to another airport or vice-versa. 2. Surface deadhead travel by automobile (including coach bus or minibus) shall be limited to two and one-half (2.5) hours as determined by the most expeditious route using a reputable source (e.g., MapQuest, Google Maps), except that such surface deadhead travel may exceed two and one-half (2.5) hours due to circumstances beyond the Company’s control (e.g., natural disasters, airport closures). Surface deadhead travel between the points listed in the chart below shall not be subject to the two and one-half (2.5) hour limitation. The Company may utilize rail transportation for deadhead travel in Western Europe, between New York City and Baltimore, or between other locations agreed to by the Company and the Union generally or on a case-by-case basis. The duration of such deadhead shall not exceed four and one-half (4.5) hours, unless the Union consents to a longer deadhead. Such travel shall only be in First Class service (or comparable). The Crew Member is authorized to use the Company credit card to purchase onboard meals and internet access (if not included in the class of service).

The set times for surface deadhead between the following cities are: SFO – OAK 1 hour LAX – ONT 2 hours, 15 minutes SFO – SJC 1 hour LAX – BUR 1 hour, 30 minutes SJC – OAK 1 hour, 15 minutes SEA – BFI 30 minutes LAX – SAN 2 hours, 24 minutes SEA – PAE 1 hour, 15 minutes LAX – SNA 1 hour, 15 minutes 3. If the time is more than five minutes (:05) longer than the times listed above, or for city sequences not listed above, the crewmembers will be required to call Crew Scheduling immediately after the surface deadhead for any necessary schedule adjustments. Failure to call Crew Scheduling at the time will negate any schedule change for the next duty day; however, the compensation will still be paid if the times listed above resulted in a Flight Attendant going over duty.

If during the life of this Agreement the operation should require surface deadhead on a regular basis between additional airport pairs, the Company shall publish the scheduled deadhead time(s) for the new airport pair(s), which shall be based on an assessment of the actual time necessary to travel between the new airport pair(s) by the most expeditious route as determined by a reputable source (e.g., Mapquest, AAA, Google Maps). Nothing herein shall be construed to prohibit the Company from requiring surface deadhead between airports for which the scheduled surface deadhead time(s) have not yet been published. Should the Company require that a Crewmember surface deadhead between two airports for which no scheduled deadhead time has been published by the Company, and the actual time necessary to travel between such airports cannot be determined by using the above-mentioned reputable sources, the time in deadhead shall be based on a reasonable assessment of the normal surface transportation required for the most expeditious routing. 4. Transportation Local In Nature to and from a layover hotel shall not be considered surface deadhead.

  • The Site The site of the Project Highway (the “Site”) shall comprise the site described in Schedule-A in respect of which the Right of Way shall be provided by the Authority to the Contractor. The Authority shall be responsible for: (a) acquiring and providing Right of Way on the Site in accordance with the alignment finalised by the Authority, free from all encroachments and encumbrances, and free access thereto for the execution of this Agreement; and (b) obtaining licences and permits for environment clearance for the Project Highway.

  • ADJACENT EXCAVATION-SHORING If an excavation shall be made upon land adjacent to the demised premises, or shall be authorized to be made, Tenant shall afford to the person causing or authorized to cause such excavation, license to enter upon the demised premises for the purpose of doing such work as said person shall deem necessary to preserve the wall or the building of which demised premises form a part from injury or damage and to support the same by proper foundations without any claim for damages or indemnity against Owner, or diminution or abatement of rent.

  • Underground Tanks If underground or other storage tanks storing Hazardous Materials located on the Premises or the Project are used by Tenant or are hereafter placed on the Premises or the Project by Tenant, Tenant shall install, use, monitor, operate, maintain, upgrade and manage such storage tanks, maintain appropriate records, obtain and maintain appropriate insurance, implement reporting procedures, properly close any underground storage tanks, and take or cause to be taken all other actions necessary or required under applicable state and federal Legal Requirements, as such now exists or may hereafter be adopted or amended in connection with the installation, use, maintenance, management, operation, upgrading and closure of such storage tanks.

  • Subsurface Conditions Unless the Contract Documents stipulate specific quantities and units of rock or unsuitable soils, the Contractor shall assume material below the surface of the Earth to be earth and other material that can be removed by power shovel or similar equipment. Should conditions encountered below the surface of the ground be at variance to the number of unit requirements as indicated by drawings or specifications, and absent an agreed-upon unit price established prior to the bid by Addendum, or after contract execution by Change Order, the Contract Sum and/or time shall be adjusted as provided in the Contract Documents for changes in the work.
