Time and Basis of Evaluation. The Board shall evaluate and assess in writing the performance of the Superintendent at least once each year during the term of this Contract. The Board's evaluation and assessment of the Superintendent shall be reasonably related to the duties of the Superintendent as outlined in the Superintendent's job description and shall be based on the District's progress towards accomplishing the District Goals.

By June 1 of each year of this Contract, using the agreed-upon evaluation criteria, the Superintendent shall provide the Board a written self-appraisal of accomplishments and attainment of goals beginning June 1, 2018. After the Board receives the Superintendent's self-appraisal, the Board President and the Superintendent shall meet to discuss the written evaluation and related matters. By July 1 of each year of this Contract, the Board shall evaluate and assess in writing the performance of the Superintendent using the agreed-upon evaluation criteria. The Board's evaluation of the Superintendent shall include, but not be limited to, a review of the Superintendent's self-appraisal of his accomplishments and attainment of the goals. Further, the evaluation shall be reasonably related to the goals and the duties of the Superintendent as outlined in paragraph 2.B. of this Contract. By July l of each year of this Contract, the Board shall provide the Superintendent with a copy of the completed evaluation form. The Superintendent shall have the right to respond to the Board's written evaluation in writing not later than thirty (30) calendar days after receiving the written evaluation.

The Board shall evaluate and assess in writing the performance of the Superintendent at least once each year during the term of this Contract; provided, however, the Board may conduct an evaluation of the Superintendent in closed session at any time, in its discretion, or at the request of the Superintendent. The Board’s evaluation and assessment of the Superintendent shall be reasonably related to the duties of the Superintendent as outlined in state and federal statutes and regulations, Board policy, and the Superintendent’s job description; and shall be based at least in part on the District’s progress toward accomplishing the District Goals and the Superintendent’s progress toward accomplishing the Superintendent’s Performance Goals. The Superintendent shall be responsible for placing on the Board’s meeting agendas the meetings necessary to accomplish the Board and Superintendent annual responsibilities of this paragraph.

The first evaluation shall be conducted on or before December 31st of the first Contract year. The second evaluation shall be conducted on or before March 31st of the first Contract year, unless otherwise mutually agreed to by the Superintendent and the Board. The Board shall evaluate and assess in writing the performance of the Superintendent at least once during each subsequent Contract year. This evaluation shall be conducted on or before the December board meeting of each subsequent Contract year, unless mutually agreed to by the Superintendent and the Board. The Superintendent shall see that all Superintendent evaluations are preserved in the same manner as teacher evaluations are preserved in the District’s offices. The Superintendent is responsible for notifying the Board of the Board’s statutory obligation to evaluate the Superintendent by consulting with the President of the Board to see that the Superintendent’s evaluation is placed on the Board’s agenda during the contract year on or before the dates specified above. A failure to notify the Board of its need to perform the Superintendent’s evaluation shall constitute neglect of duty sufficient to warrant cancellation of this Contract.
Time and Basis of Evaluation. The Board shall formally evaluate and assess in writing the performance ofthe Superintendent at least once annually in June or other mutually agreed upon month during each year ofthis Contract. The evaluation and assessment shall be reasonably related to the Superintendent's duties as outlined in the Superintendent's job description, the District's goals, and lawful Board directives. The Superintendent shall provide a written reminder to the Board of its evaluation obligation at least 30 days prior to the Regular Called Board Meetings in June or other mutually agreed upon month. The evaluation format and procedure shall comply with Board policy and state and federal law. The Superintendent may provide written information to the Board for consideration in the evaluation. In consideration of possible contract extension, the Board may also perform a mid-year review ofthe Superintendent's job performance during the month of January of each respective contract year.
