Time Between Shifts. If an employee, because of working call-in time or overtime, has not had a continuous eight (8) hours off since the last regularly scheduled shift, the employee shall notify the supervisor. The supervisor will consider the employee’s needs and the needs of the Sheriff’s Office and direct the employee to either report for work at the regularly scheduled shift or report for work after eight (8) hours have elapsed from the last call-in time or overtime. If the employee is directed to work at the regularly scheduled shift, the employee will be paid time and one half for all hours worked until eight (8) hours have elapsed from the last call-in time or overtime and straight time thereafter. If the employee is directed not to report at the regularly scheduled shift until eight (8) hours have elapsed from the last call-in time or overtime and reports and works as directed, the employee shall be paid as though the employee worked the entire shift.
