Common use of Time Off Between Shifts Clause in Contracts

Time Off Between Shifts. If an employee who is assigned to a 12 hour shift is required to work during his/her regularly scheduled time off, the Department head or designee may schedule time off during the next regularly scheduled shift to ensure the employee has adequate time to rest to avoid the possibility of fatigue. The period of time the Department Head or designee may schedule the employee off shall not exceed the amount of time the employee was required to work during his/her scheduled time off.
