Time Off in Lieu of Overtime. 4.3.1 Access to the taking of time off in lieu shall not be unreasonably withheld. It needs to be taken at a time suitable to the operation of the employer and arranged in advance. 4.3.2 Time in lieu can be accrued to a maximum of the ordinary working week. 4.3.3 Time in lieu needs to be taken prior to annual leave and taken within six months of it being earned, or it will be forfeited. 4.3.4 Where time in lieu has been earned but has not been able to be taken because the employer has not been able to accommodate kaimahi requests, an extension may be negotiated or the time in lieu may be cashed up on a T1 basis.
