Training and Safety. All Fire Department activities and operations shall be in compliance with OSHA and WISHA safety rules and regulations and any other applicable law as mandated by the Federal Aviation Authority. The Employer shall, if possible, provide relief at any major alarm or emergency and at any alarm or emergency which because of extreme weather conditions dictates such relief. The Employer shall provide and require a minimum of advanced first aid training and certification for Employees covered by this Agreement. All other training shall utilize available and applicable Federal and State materials including but not limited to those provided by Washington State Fire Service Training, Federal Aviation Administration and International Fire Service Training Association. If an Employee is directed or required by Employer to attend classes, training, etc., outside of scheduled working hours, Employer shall pay all direct expenses upon submittal of receipts/invoices. An Employee desiring to attend classes or training not required by Employer may submit an application for reimbursement prior to registration to his/her Fire Battalion Chief. Approval or disapproval will be made based on the value of such class or training to the goals of the department. Reimbursement for tuition, registration and books only will be made upon presentation of receipts for applicable fees and grade notices or documentation substantiating completion and/or a passing grade. Books purchased by the Employer become the property of the Airport. Employee may be required to present the course content to the other Employees.

Provider certifies that it and its employees have the background, training, and experience and necessary licenses to properly and professionally perform the services being delivered under this Agreement. Provider acknowledges that Texas State, in entering into this Agreement, reasonably expects Provider to be aware of all applicable safety standards and necessary safety procedures and practices to be able to perform the services to be delivered under this Agreement without injury to TSUS, Texas State, and their respective regents, employees, Participants, and any third parties.

Training and Safety. The USER must be trained by qualified staff before being allowed to use any of the instruments. The USER must acquire and demonstrate knowledge of the laboratory safety procedures and must be familiar with RGE safe operating procedures for electron microscopes and XRD. Furthermore, the USER must be familiar with the safety procedures for each particular instrument that the USER intends to use. The USER must understand the safety procedures followed by University and should notify campus police at x2600 in case of emergency. An untrained USER may only be present in the FACILITY for observation purposes and may not, in any circumstance, operate the instruments. In any situation that a USER feels uncertain about the safe and appropriate operation of an instrument, the USER shall consult a staff member prior to operating the instrument. The USER is not allowed to install or modify any software installed on the instrument computers. Failure to follow appropriate procedures and instructions may result in termination of USER privileges. The USER shall reimburse the FACILITY for any and all damages caused to the FACILITY or associated instruments. USER will be responsible for its personal protective equipment.

7.02.01. The dangers and costs that alcohol and other chemical abuses can create in the electrical contracting industry in terms of safety and productivity are significant. The parties to this agreement resolve to combat chemical abuse in any form and agree that, to be effective, programs to eliminate substance abuse and impairment should contain a strong rehabilitation component. The local parties recognize that the implementation of a drug and alcohol policy and program must be subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Such policies and programs must also be administered in accordance with scientific principles, and must incorporate procedural safeguards to ensure fairness in application and protection of legitimate interests of privacy and confidentiality. To provide a drug-free workforce for the Electrical Construction Industry, the Union and Employer shall use the implemented area-wide Substance Abuse Testing Policy. The policy shall include minimum standards as required by the Union and Employer. Should any of the required minimum standards fail to comply with federal, state, and/or local laws and regulations, they shall be modified by the local Union and Employer to meet the requirements of those laws and regulations.
7.03.01. There shall be a Joint Safety Committee. The duties of this committee shall be to develop and recommend safe work rules that are equal or greater than the Standards for construction as established by applicable Federal and/or State laws. These safe work rules as recommended by the committee shall be submitted to the parties to this Agreement to be used as a part of this collective bargaining process. Training and Safety. Contractor shall develop, implement and maintain a formal training and retraining program for all supervisory staff and drivers engaged in the provision of Citi-Lift service. Such training shall meet or exceed to training provided to Pueblo Transit employees. The driver training program must include a minimum eighty (80) hour course for new employees with no prior commercial driving experience, consisting of a combination of classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel training under the auspices of a qualified instructor, and in-service training. The program must also address formal retraining measures, including criteria for determining the success of retraining efforts. New employees with prior commercial driving experience may receive fewer hours of training, and Contractor shall use its discretion in assessing the training needs of such employees on a case-by-case basis. Passenger Assistance Training (PAT) or Passenger Service and Safety Certification (PASS) must be provided to all drivers by a certified PAT or PASS trainer as part of the 80 hours curriculum. This training must focus on preferred techniques to be used when transporting passengers with disabilities, including non-ambulatory passengers. Contractor’s training program shall further include at least four (4) hours of sensitivity training which are required by 49 CFR Part 37 of USDOT regulations. The sensitivity training must emphasize treating persons with disabilities with courtesy and respect and the types of disabilities drivers may encounter. The training program shall include a safety component, through which Citi-Lift passengers, Contractor and Pueblo Transit may be assured that the service provided at all times remains as safe as possible. The safety component shall include, but not necessarily be limited to: Regularly scheduled employee safety meetings; participation in National Driver Safety Council programs; information and incentives to encourage safe operating practices; and participation in risk management activities recommended by Contractor’s insurance provider. Contractor shall submit written documentation of its training program and annual training schedule to Pueblo Transit at least five (5) days prior to the initiation of service delivery.
