Twelve Hour Work Schedule. The Employer and the union may agree that employees in a particular work area may work a twelve (12) hour shift schedule. The request for a twelve (12) hour shift schedule may come from 100% of the employees in the work area or the Employer and if agreed upon by the parties, all employees in that area shall work a twelve (12) hour shift schedule. This twelve (12) hour shift schedule shall remain in effect in the work area until either of the parties gives the other thirty (30) calendar days notice of its intention to terminate this Agreement.

The regularly scheduled work week for Officers (defined herein as Police Officer, Corporal, and Sergeants) working a twelve (12) hour shift schedule, patrol division, shall be a twelve (12) consecutive hour shift. 2.   • Work Schedule (A) Where an employee has an established schedule, a change in workdays or shifts will be posted no less than 14 calendar days in advance and will reflect at least a two workweek schedule; however, the state will make a good faith effort to reflect a one month schedule. (B) In the event of a declared emergency the notice requirement of this Section may be void. (C) The state will continue to observe the scheduling structures currently in place at each agency and agrees to bargain any change in the overall practice of how schedules are established.
