UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. 5.01 The Union agrees that there will be no solicitation of membership, collection of funds, or other Union activities on the premises of Parkway House, except as specifically permitted by the Agreement or in writing by Parkway House. (a) All employees who are in the employ of the Employer at the signing date of this Agreement and all new employees who enter the employ of the Employer after this agreement has been signed, shall, as a condition of employment, be subject to regular monthly Union dues to be deducted from their wages and remitted to the Union. (b) The Employer shall, when remitting such dues, name the employees from whose pay deductions have been made and shall also identify the employees by social insurance numbers. (c) The Employer will supply the Union with the name, current address, social insurance number, classification and other relevant information of the employees with the first dues deduction. 5.03 Deductions shall be made following the first full month of work and forwarded to the Union Office on or before the last day of the same month in which the deductions are made where practicable. 5.04 The Union agrees to notify Parkway House, in writing, of the rate structure of dues for its members covered by this Article. The Union shall advise the Employer one (1) month in advance, in writing, of any changes in rate structure of the monthly dues. It is agreed that the rate structure of the monthly dues requested shall not require deductions which are incompatible with the Employer payroll system. 5.05 The Union and its members shall hold the Employer harmless with respect to any liability which the Employer might incur as a result of deductions and remittance. 5.06 It is mutually agreed that arrangements will be made for a Union Representative to interview each new employee who is not a member of the Union once during the probationary period of employment for the purpose of informing such employee of the existence of the Union at Parkway House, and of ascertaining whether the employees wishes to become a member of the Union. The Employer shall advise the Union monthly as to the names of the persons listed for interview and the time and place on the premises of the Employer designated for each interview, the duration of which shall not exceed ten (10) minutes.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. 4.01 It is also agreed by the parties that all present employees of the company will pay union dues as a condition of employment. All new employees hired shall, as a condition of employment, sign authorization cards to have deducted from their pay the monthly union dues or an equivalent sum, and shall, at the completion of the probationary period, have deducted from their pay the initiation fee, which will be checked off by the company. 4.02 The amounts so deducted will be such sums as may from time to time be assessed by the union on its members in accordance with the constitution and/or by-laws of the National and Local Union. 4.03 The company agrees to forward to the financial secretary of the appropriate Local Union by cheque each month, not later than the 10th day of the following month, the amount deducted and also a list of the employees from whom the deductions were made and who were not checked off and the reason. 4.04 The financial secretary of each Local Union will notify the company of any change in the amount of union dues and/or initiation fees, that may from time to time take place in line with constitutional requirements. 4.05 It is understood and agreed by the parties that the above check-off procedures does not compel the employee to become a member of the union, nor does it compel the company to discharge an employee if the employee is suspended or expelled from the union under the National Constitution trial procedure.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. 5.01 All present and future employees of the Employer, as a condition of continuing 5.02 The Employer shall deduct from every employee, an amount equal to the current monthly dues, initiations, or assessments levied, in accordance with the Union constitution and/or by-laws, and owing by the employee to the Union. 5.03 Deductions shall be made from the payroll period at the end of each month and shall be forwarded to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union not later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following, accompanied by a list of names, addresses and (listed) home phone numbers of all employees from whose wages the deductions have been made. A copy of this list shall be forwarded by the Employer to the National Headquarters of the Canadian Union of Public Employees. 5.04 The Employer will notify the Union within one week of the starting date of each new employee. The notice will include the new employee's name, address, classification and supervisor's name. 5.05 The Employer agrees to acquaint each new employee with the fact that a Union agreement is in effect, and with the conditions of employment as set out in Articles 5.01, 5.02 and 5.03. The Employer agrees to allow a union representative 30 minutes, upon hiring, to acquaint each new employee with the terms and conditions of the collective agreement. 5.06 A list of all new employees shall be forwarded monthly to the Union and shall contain

UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. L6.01 On each pay date on which a member of the Bargaining Unit is paid, the Employer shall deduct from each employee such dues or assessments as are levied by the Union in accordance with its constitution and/or by-laws. The amounts to be deducted shall be determined by the Union, and written notice of the amount(s) or any change(s) thereto shall be forwarded to the Employer at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date. L6.02 Deductions shall be forwarded monthly to the Secretary-Treasurer of the Union not later than the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following the month in which the deductions were made. The monthly remittance to the Union shall be accompanied by lists of the names and addresses, phone numbers, work site, job class, FTE status, wages paid for the period and the union dues deducted for all employees from whose wages deductions have been made. Employees shall be exempt from having union dues deducted while they are on full-time Long Term Disability or while they are in receipt of full-time WSIB benefits for a period of greater than two (2) weeks. L6.03 The Union shall indemnify and save the Employer harmless from any and all claims, suits, attachments or any form of liability whatsoever as a result of any dues deductions which have been authorized by the Union.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. 6.01 The Employer shall deduct from every employee any monthly dues in accordance with the Union Constitution and/or By-laws, which are owed by the employee to the Union. The Union shall, from time to time, inform the Employer as to the amount of dues to be deducted from each employee. 6.02 Union dues shall be deducted from an employee's pay bi- weekly and shall be forwarded to the Secretary Treasurer of the Union no later than the 15th day of the month following. With the remittance of such union dues the Employer shall forward a list of the names of employees and their classification from whose wages union dues have been deducted and the amount paid by each employee. 6.03 The Employer agrees to set out on an employee's T-4 Income Tax Report Form the amount of annual dues paid for the taxation year to which the T-4 Income Tax Report Form applies.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. 1.01 The Employer agrees to call the Local Union for its supply of additional workers. If the Local Union is unable to supply existing members who are qualified, residing in the area of the job within twenty-four (24) hours, the Employer is free to hire such labour as is available. Non- resident Union members will also be given preference of employment provided they apply at the job, in which case travel allowances will not apply.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. 4.01 It is agreed by the parties hereto that all employees in the Union will be required to pay an amount equal to the current monthly dues, so long as the Union is the recognized Bargaining Agent. 4.02 It is further agreed that the Corporation shall deduct Union dues from the wages of all employees who come within the scope of this Agreement, whether a non-member or member. Deductions shall be made from each pay period and shall be forwarded to the Secretary-Treasurer no later than the 15th day of the month following, accompanied by a list of all employees from whose wages the deductions have been made. 4.03 The Union is responsible for keeping the Corporation informed as to the names and addresses of the proper officers during July of each year of the life of the Agreement, and further, within ten
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. ‌ 4:01 The Employer shall deduct from every employee any dues or assessments levied in accordance with the Union Constitution and pay the same to the Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union as directed by the Union on or before the twentieth day of the following month. The amount of dues to be deducted will be as specified by the Union and the Union agrees to notify the Employer in writing not later than the fifteenth day of the month of any changes in dues and, in the case of an increase in dues, to furnish the Employer with the proper authorization to make such changes effective the first day of the following month. 4:02 Employees who, at the date of this Agreement, are within the bargaining unit, may become members of the Union if they wish to do so. All employees who are presently members of the Union and all new employees shall, as a condition of employment, become and remain members of the Union on the date of hire and will sign an application for membership when accepted for employment and pay the current initiation fee by way of payroll deduction. 4:03 The Employer shall provide to the Union on or before the twentieth day of each calendar month a list of the names from whose wages the deductions have been made. 4:04 The Union will save the Employer harmless from any claims that may arise from any deduction for wages in respect of check-off of monthly assessments or any action taken at the request of the Union. 4:05 Dues will be checked off during any periods of absence in which an employee is receiving a pay cheque from the Employer.
UNION SECURITY AND CHECK-OFF OF UNION DUES. 2.01 All employees shall, when working in a position within the bargaining unit described in Article 1 hereof, be required, as a condition of employment, to be a member of the Union and obtain a clearance slip from the Union as follows: (a) An employee shall apply for membership in the Union and obtain a clearance slip from the Union by no later than the second Saturday following his first day of work, and shall be required to maintain such membership while working within the bargaining unit for the duration of this Agreement. The Union agrees that it will not act unreasonably or in an arbitrary or discriminatory manner in accepting members or issuing clearance slips pursuant to the provisions of this Article 2. 01. If a person works for the Employer without obtaining and presenting the required clearance slip, the Employer shall pay the Union, as liquidated damages, the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per day for each employee for each day worked prior to said employee obtaining and presenting the required clearance slip. Such payment shall commence from the first day worked by the employee. The Union shall notify the Employer of any employees for which a clearance slip is required and has not been provided within ten (10) days after any remittance made by the Employer to the Union reporting such employee on the Employer's payroll. The Employer shall not be responsible for liquidated damages for any period following the expiry of such ten day period where the Union fails to so advise the Employer.
