The UNIVERSITY HOLIDAYS clause defines the official days when the university is closed and regular operations are suspended. This typically includes national holidays, religious observances, and institution-specific breaks such as winter or spring holidays. UNIVERSITY HOLIDAYS. The University shall observe the following days as administrative holidays:
1. January 1st (New Year's Day)

3. Third Monday in February, or announced equivalent (President’s Day)

11. December 24, or announced equivalent (Christmas Eve)
12. December 25 (Christmas Day)
13. December 31, or announced equivalent (New Year’s Eve) Official holidays are those holidays as set forth annually in the campus calendar. Unless the University designates an alternate day, when a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday is observed as the holiday; and when a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday is observed as the holiday.
UNIVERSITY HOLIDAYS. Five days each year are prescribed as University Holidays. The University has prescribed Christmas Eve (or the last working day before Christmas Day), Easter Tuesday and the three working days between Christmas and New Year as University Holidays.

7.3.1 The Employer has prescribed as University Holidays, Easter Tuesday, the last working day before Christmas and the first three days after Boxing Day which are not a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday.

UNIVERSITY HOLIDAYS. 12.2.1 University Holidays are days when the University is shut, namely Easter Tuesday; Christmas Eve (being the last working day before Christmas) and the three (3) working days between Christmas and New Year.
12.2.2 The employee shall not be entitled to a paid holiday on any of the five (5) University Holidays unless required to work in agreement with the Employee’s Supervisor / Manager. An employee who is required to work on a University Holiday will be paid for the time actually worked at the rate of their ordinary hourly rate.

UNIVERSITY HOLIDAYS. The employer shall prescribe the last working day before Christmas Day, the three working days between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day and Easter Tuesday as University Holidays for employees in continuing employment.

Unless an alternate day is designated by the University, when a holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday is observed as the holiday, and when the holiday falls on Sunday the following Monday is observed as the holiday. If a campus/hospital/laboratory decides to substitute a floating holiday for the Administrative Holiday it shall provide notice to CUE and the change will affect members of this unit to the same extent and on the same effective date as the change is implemented at that location. An employee must use the Floating Holiday by the end of the contract year or it will be lost. No employee shall lose a holiday as a result of movement to an Administrative Holiday from a Floating Holiday.
