Where required by the Employer, employees shall also be dispatched with First Aid, Aerial Work Platform, and any other training as agreed to by the Employer and the Union. (b) Workers dispatched through the Union will be in possession of valid certification in the above noted training at time of dispatch. (c) Employees, whose certifications in the above noted training expire within 180 calendar days of dispatch, will have the responsibility of renewing these certifications on their off-duty time at no cost to the Employer. Failure to renew the above noted safety certificates prior to their expiry date may be cause for suspension or termination of employment. Any fees charged for renewing such certificates shall be the responsibility of the employee. (d) The Employer shall be responsible to re-certify any of the above noted expired safety certificates, or safety certificates needing renewal due to course content changes, for any employee who has been in their employ for more than 180 calendar days. (e) Workers will be paid at regular straight time rates for any time spent for course renewals of compulsory safety training in accordance with (d) above and the Employer will pay any fees charged for such renewals.

The Employer shall supply a single point of contact for the purpose of supplying this information by way of email, fax, or phone. Following the acceptance of a dispatch slip, workers shall promptly remit to the Employer, copies of any applicable safety certificates by fax, email, or personal presentation at an address of the Employer or any other method that will achieve this objective.   • THE WORK The Work comprises the completed construction required by the Contract Documents and includes all labor necessary to produce such construction, and all materials and equipment incorporated or to be incorporated in such construction.

  • Shift Work ‌ (1) Except as varied by this Clause, all other aspects of Section 4 of the Agreement shall apply to the working of shift work. (2) The Company has the right to direct Employees to work shift work as required and the Employees shall work the shift work as directed. Shift work will be worked and paid for in accordance with this subclause. (3) Shift work is deemed to be any arrangement of Project Working Hours where the majority of the Ordinary Hours are worked outside of the spread of Ordinary Hours defined at clause 16 - Hours of Work of this Agreement and when Employees are working as such. (4) Ordinary Hours for shift Employees will comprise thirty-six (36) hours per week averaged over a defined work cycle and will not commence before 5.00pm on Sunday night. Such Ordinary Hours are the specified hours under each shift Employee's terms of employment by reference to which annual leave and personal/carer's leave accrue. (5) Prior to the commencement of shift work, the Company shall seek the agreement of the Employees involved. Failing agreement, the Company will provide to the Employees concerned one (1) week's notice of the commencement of shift work and the starting and finishing times of Ordinary Hours of the shifts. (6) Where less than five (5) consecutive shifts are worked then Employees shall be paid at overtime rates in lieu of the shift loading prescribed at subclause (7) of this clause. The consecutive nature of shifts will not be deemed to be broken if work is not carried out on a Saturday, Sunday, RDO or on any public holiday. (7) A shift Employee shall receive a flat loading of twenty-five (25) percent of their Ordinary Hourly Rate for each hour worked. (8) Employees working night shift shall be entitled to stop work for a half-hour without deduction of pay for the purpose of taking a meal break. (9) The Company may stagger the times for Employees to take meal breaks to meet operational requirements. (10) The Company shall structure the Project Working Hours for Employees working night shift to include one (1) half-hour rest break to be taken without deduction of pay by Employees working the Project Working Hours on any night shift.

  • OF WORK The work week will commence as of local time on Monday, and shall consist of the employee's regular hours of work divided into five (5) days of work, exclusive of first meal period, but inclusive of break periods, second meal periods and subsequent meal periods. The work week for non-shifted employees will consist of thirty-five (35) hours divided into five days of work at seven (7) hours per day, Monday through Friday, commencing on each day no earlier than hours a.m.) and finishing no later than hours that same day. For Swing Announcers and Engineering Department employees, the two consecutive days off shall be represented by a minimum fifty (50) consecutive hours. The five (5) work days in any work week need not necessarily be consecutive; they may be separated by two (2) consecutive days off. Hours worked which encroach on the required consecutive hours off shall be paid as overtime. With the exception of Sports Announcers and Traffic Reporters, there will no assignment of split shifts. The Company will use its best efforts to ensure that any change in a "shifted" employee's assigned work schedule shall be communicated to the employee no later than hours on the Tuesday of the work week immediately preceding the week in which the change occurs. Should a change be made than hours before the scheduled start of a shift, the Company will pay overtime rates for those new hours outside of the previously scheduled hours on that day. This provision does not apply to first day rescheduling when caused by circumstances beyond the control of the Company (i.e. sickness replacement, bereavement leave replacement, and emergencies). By the Tuesday immediately preceding an employee going on annual leave of five (5) days or more, shall be given a time to report back to work. When an employee is required to work hours in excess of weekly hours or regular daily hours, will be compensated for that work in one of the following two ways: Overtime hours exceeding thirty-seven and one- half (37 1/21 hours per week shall be paid at one and one-half the employee's basic rate. The employee may, at his option, have time off with pay in lieu of being paid for overtime. The amount of time off will be calculated in the same fashion as overtime pay and shall be scheduled the same as extra days off. There shall be no pyramiding of overtime and therefore overtime shall,not be paid under more than one sub-article of this Agreement. The Company shall attempt to apportion overtime equitably among employees within a job function. No claim for compensation for excess hours worked will be honoured unless the excess hours of work have been expressly authorized or requested in advance by the appropriate head. An extra off shall be defined as twelve (12) hours plus a turnaround period and should be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time. A tour of duty shall mean the authorized approved time worked by an employee during a day, calculated to the end of the last quarter hour in which work was performed, provided that if it extends beyond midnight, it be considered as falling wholly within the calendar day in which it starts. With the exception of Engineering employees, all employees who are recalled to work outside of their regularly scheduled hours shall receive a minimum of two hours call time.

  • Extra Work At any time during the Term of this Agreement, City may request that Consultant perform Extra Work. As used herein, “Extra Work” means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.

  • Work The definition of work, for overtime purposes only, includes: 1. All hours actually spent performing the duties of the assigned job, rounded to the next quarter hour; 2. Travel time required by the Employer during normal work hours from one work site to another or travel time prior to normal work hours to a different work location that is greater than the employee’s normal home-to-work travel time and all travel in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws; 3. Vacation leave; 4. Sick leave; 5. Compensatory time; 6. Holidays; and 7. Any other paid time not listed below.
