Weather Event definition

Weather Event means conditions causing icing on Wind Turbine blades such that the Wind Turbine does not synchronize properly, lightning strikes to any portion of the Facility that did not ground properly, excessive wind speeds in excess of the cut out speed for the Wind Turbine (as specified in the operating manual provided by the turbine manufacturer for such Wind Turbine) or in excess of speeds at which maintenance and repair may safely be conducted (provided that, at the time of determination, such maintenance or repair is required for operation of the Wind Turbine), or any period during which the National Weather Service has issued a hail warning for any area within a 50-miles radius of the Facility, provided that (a) such Weather Event is not attributable to fault or negligence on the part of Seller, (b) such Weather Event is caused by factors beyond Seller's reasonable control, and (c) despite taking all reasonable technical and commercial precautions and measures to prevent, avoid, mitigate or overcome such event and the consequences thereof, including the purchase of a cold weather package for such Wind Turbine from the turbine manufacturer, as applicable, Seller has been unable to prevent, avoid, mitigate or overcome such event or consequences.
Weather Event means any meteorological condition that permits the development of Slippery surface conditions, which requires the application of Winter Abrasive, anti-icing or De-icing chemicals and/or snow removal. A Weather Event has ended after the last measurable precipitation within a specific localized area and not when the Weather Event has ended for the entire Service Area.
Weather Event means extreme weather conditions which prevent the Generating Facility from operating in accordance with applicable equipment operating manuals and Prudent Electrical Practices; provided that (a) such Weather Event is not attributable to the fault or negligence on Seller, (b) such Weather Event is caused by factors beyond Seller’s reasonable control, and (c) despite taking all reasonable technical and commercial precautions and measures to prevent, avoid, mitigate or overcome such Weather Event and the consequences thereof, Seller has been unable to prevent, avoid, mitigate or overcome such event or consequences.1

Examples of Weather Event in a sentence

  • An Extreme Weather Event shall be eligible solely for a Completion Deadline adjustment.

  • The total rainfall experienced during an analyzed duration must equal or exceed the single depth listed for the duration by NOAA, in inches, to qualify as an Extreme Weather Event; confidence intervals do not apply.

  • For a rain event to qualify as an Extreme Weather Event, the rainfall must be at least equivalent to a 100-year frequency 24-hour rainfall event, as defined by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Atlas 14.

  • For snow to qualify as an Extreme Weather Event, the snow must be at a rate of no less than 20 inches per 24 hour period, as defined by the National Weather Service.

  • An Extreme Weather Event shall not entitle Design-Builder to Extra Work Costs or Delay Costs.

  • Each Party is excused from performance under this Agreement, other than the obligation to make payment when due and in the full amount owed, during any period during which it is illegal or impossible for said Party to perform as a result of delays or conditions caused by an Act of God, Weather Event, War, Act of Terrorism, Civil Disturbance, Court Order prohibiting performance, or Labor Dispute.

  • Any extensions of operating hours due to Emergencies, Severe Weather Event or planned Special Events as identified by Developer and accepted by the Department, or as required by the Department, (up to 30 hours per Contract Year for all required vehicles, dispatch staff, and required personnel and equipment) shall be the responsibility of Developer.

  • When a situation occurs where an employee is affected as a result of a Natural Disaster (including an undeclared natural disaster) or Extreme Weather Event caused by but not limited to, a natural flood, cyclone, bushfire, tsunami or earthquake events, the employee shall be granted leave without loss of pay for up to a maximum of two (2) days per year (non-cumulative) and such leave is subject to approval by the General Manager or Manager People and Culture.

  • Weather Event Leave shall only be used if the Mayor or designee declares a day as a weather event and notifies non-essential employees either not to report to work or discontinue work due to weather conditions.

  • OCSD shall promptly notify OCFCD when discharge may commence after the conclusion of the Wet Weather Event or Pollutant Violation Event.


More Definitions of Weather Event

Weather Event means extreme weather conditions which prevent the Generating Facility from operating in accordance with applicable equipment operating manuals and Prudent Electrical Practices; provided that (a) such Weather Event is not attributable to the fault or negligence on Seller, (b) such Weather Event is caused by factors beyond Seller’s reasonable control, and (c) despite taking all reasonable technical and commercial precautions and measures to prevent, avoid, mitigate or overcome such Weather Event and the consequences thereof, Seller has been unable to prevent, avoid, mitigate or overcome such event or consequences.15
Weather Event shall have the meaning given in Section 16.1.
Weather Event means flood, washouts, landslides, mudslides, earthquakes, storms, hurricanes and tropical storms or threat of such.
Weather Event means a period of time during which either ice cover or snow accumulation will require extensive snow removal, snow plowing or salting operations as declared by the City of Cambridge.

Related to Weather Event

  • Barrier Event means that R (final) is lower than the Barrier.

  • Catastrophic Event means a rare circumstance in which mass casualties and/or significant property damage has occurred or is imminent (e.g. September 11th, hurricanes, earthquakes greater than 6.1 on the Richter scale)
