Under special circumstances the probationary period required may be waived by the Deputy Director; 5) Have no adverse action pending or finalized within the previous 6 months of employment; 6) Be physically capable of performing training tasks related to the specific training being conducted; and 7) Possess and produce any required certification or qualification to teach specialized courses.

Adjunct faculty members who are assigned at the start of the fall term at least 24.5 load units for the succeeding academic year or at least 30 load units for the succeeding calendar year shall be recognized as members of the bargaining unit and given a yearly, or – as described in 6.1 (d) a two- year - Notice of Appointment as adjunct instructors. Appointment does not, in any way, propose, indicate, or promise a continuation of appointment or a new appointment. Notice of non-renewal is not required for an adjunct instructor. (a) The qualifying load units shall include both teaching and other assignments, as determined mutually by the Faculty Forum and the administration. (b) In the event actual load units fall below the projection, the adjunct faculty members will maintain both benefits and unit membership for the duration of the period specified in the Notice of Appointment. If the adjunct instructor declines load units, benefits and unit membership may be reduced or terminated. (c) The renewal of an adjunct member’s employment is entirely at the discretion of the College. Except for the applicable provisions of Article 10, adjunct faculty shall have no property interest in their employment with the College. (d) If an adjunct instructor has taught in the same position for at least five (5) consecutive years with satisfactory evaluations, that adjunct instructor may be eligible for a two-year appointment. Such appointments would be proposed by the department chair and recommended to the Vice President for Instruction for consideration.

Adjunct Instructors. For the term of this agreement (2014-2019) and expiring on December 30th, 2019, the Port Alberni Professional Fire Fighters Association, in the interest of assisting the Port Alberni Fire Department in becoming a centre of fire service excellence, will encourage off duty Association members to support, as adjunct instructors and/or technicians, the City’s initiatives with North Island College, Vancouver Island Emergency Response Academy, Justice Institute of British Columbia or other institution agreed upon by both parties, provided doing so does not place members in conflict with the Institutions and/or the organizations they have a working relationship with.
Adjunct Instructors a. The Adjunct Instructor position is voluntary. b. Adjunct Instructors shall be compensated per hour worked at the rate negotiated between Pasco County and IAFF Local 4420. c. The Adjunct Instructor shall not be eligible for overtime as a result of their work as an instructor. d. The Adjunct Instructor is a representative of Pasco County and Pasco County Fire Rescue. e. Adjunct Instructors shall follow all Pasco County and Pasco County Fire Rescue policies and procedures and may be subject to discipline for violation(s) accordingly. f. Adjunct Instructors shall be covered by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement g. Employees who wish to become Adjunct Instructors shall submit a letter of interest (LOI) package to the Division Chief of Training for qualification as an Adjunct Instructor. Included in the LOI shall be a resume` and copies of applicable instructor credentials. h. The Adjunct Instructor’s credentials/certifications MUST be uploaded to Target Solutions prior to submission of the LOI. i. Adjunct Instructors must sign the Adjunct Instructor Employment Contract prior to being utilized as an instructor j. Qualified instructors shall be added to the Adjunct Instructor list and may utilized at the discretion of the Division Chief of Training or designee. k. An Adjunct Instructor shall only be utilized for curriculum which he/she is explicitly qualified. l. Adjunct Instructors shall not be reassigned from a shift assignment for a teaching assignment without authorization from the Battalion Chief, Shift Commander, and Division Chief of Training. An Adjunct Instructor may only be reassigned for a teaching assignment when his/her position may be backfilled without the use of overtime. Any deviation MUST be approved by the Fire Chief or designee. m. Adjunct Instructors who have been assigned to teach a class/course shall not be eligible for shift overtime until after the teaching assignment is completed. n. Adjunct Instructors shall report to a Lead Instructor, as assigned by the Division Chief of Training or designee. o. Adjunct Instructors shall be monitored by the Lead Instructor for competency and effectiveness in the classroom/training environment.

  • Instructors 7.1. All instructors teaching COLLEGE’s courses offered as part of this CCAP Agreement must meet the minimum qualifications for instruction in a California community college as set forth in Sections 53410 and 58060 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations, and be hired by the CLPCCD. 7.2. The CCAP Agreement Appendix shall specify which participating TUSD or COLLEGE will be the employer of record for sole and limited purposes of assignment monitoring and reporting to the county office of education. 7.3. This CCAP Agreement specifies the TUSD will assume reporting responsibilities pursuant to applicable federal teacher quality mandates. 7.4. Instructors who teach COLLEGE’s courses offered as part of this CCAP Agreement must provide the supervision and control reasonably necessary for the protection of the health and safety of students and may not have any other assigned duty during the instructional activity. 7.5. Instructors who teach COLLEGE’s courses at TUSD shall comply with the fingerprinting requirements set forth in Education Code section 45125.1, and the tuberculosis testing and risk assessment requirements of California Health and Safety Code section 49406. In addition to any other prohibition or provision, no person who has been convicted of a violent or serious felony shall be eligible to teach any courses offered as part of this CCAP Agreement or otherwise provide services on a TUSD site. 7.6. Prior to teaching, faculty provided by the TUSD shall receive discipline-specific training and orientation from COLLEGE regarding, but not limited to, course curriculum, assessment criteria, pedagogy, course philosophy, testing and grading procedures record keeping, and other instructional responsibilities. Said training shall be approved by and provided by the COLLEGE. 7.7. Faculty provided by the TUSD will participate in professional development activities sponsored by COLLEGE as required by the terms and condition of the contract and shall be encouraged to participate in ongoing collegial interaction to include, but not limited address course content, course delivery, assessment, evaluation, and/or research and development in the field. 7.8. Faculty performance shall be evaluated by COLLEGE using the adopted evaluation process and standards for faculty of the COLLEGE, subject to the approval of CLPCCD. 7.9. COLLEGE may select instructors from TUSD personnel. TUSD personnel selected to be instructors remain employees of the TUSD, subject to the authority of the TUSD, but will also be subject to the direction of CLPCCD specifically with regard to instruction and assessment provided for the COLLEGE courses.

  • Instructor Associated with the position of Instructor is a nominal workload of 195 hours per half-credit course. This nominal workload is normally made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time. The non-classroom time is made up of preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking or grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty. In the case of a two-hour lecture per week, or the equivalent of a two-hour lecture per week, the incumbent shall also be responsible for the first hour of seminar in each course. Upon request by an Instructor, the Employer and the Instructor will review the workload for the course to ensure that assigned duties can be completed within the assigned workload of 195 nominal hours per half credit course (see Article 22.01 (a)). If it is determined that the work cannot be completed within the assigned time, the Employer may either 1) amend the contract to provide enough nominal hours to complete assigned duties; 2) provide additional resources (e.g. TAs, Course Coordinators, Marker-Graders, etc) to assist the member in completing the work within the assigned time; or 3) confirm the original workload assignment. In the case that the employer confirms the original workload assignment, the employee may request written instruction on how to complete the duties in the assigned time. If requested by the employee, the employer shall provide such written instruction.

  • Technical Support Services 2.1 The technical support services (the "Services"): Party A agrees to provide to Party B the relevant services requested by Party B, which are specified in Exhibit 1 attached hereto ("Exhibit 1").

  • FIPPA The HSP acknowledges that the LHIN is bound by FIPPA and that any information provided to the LHIN in connection with this Agreement may be subject to disclosure in accordance with FIPPA.

  • DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING The Contractor shall be responsible to inspect all components on delivery to ensure that no damage occurred during shipping or handling for furnish and installation projects. For equipment only purchases, the ordering entity shall be responsible to inspect all components on delivery. Materials must be stored in original undamaged packaging in such a manner to ensure proper ventilation and drainage, and to protect against damage, weather, vandalism, and theft until ready for installation.
