Advanced Annual Leave. Request for advance leave will be submitted in writing to the supervisor. The supervisor will transmit the request promptly to the Activity Commander or the Commanders delegate. The requester will be advised of the decision expeditiously. Advanced leave may be granted up to the number of hours the Employee will accrue in the remainder of the leave year.
Advanced Annual Leave. The Employer will consider requests for advanced annual leave consistent with this Article. Employees do not have an entitlement to advanced annual leave. Requests for advanced annual leave will be submitted to the supervisor.
1. Consistent with the needs of the Employer, employees may be advanced annual leave as follows:
a. Permanent employees may be granted the leave they will accrue for the remainder of the leave year if they expect to remain in service through the leave year.
b. Temporary and term employees may be granted the leave they will accrue during the current pay period.
2. Advanced annual leave must be requested in advance and accompanied by a letter or memo providing a rationale for the request.
3. Valid requests for annual leave by other employees may take precedence over requests for advanced annual leave. This Section will have no impact on any previously approved annual leave.
4. The Employer will not impose any arbitrary minimum or maximum on the amount of advanced annual leave.
5. Advanced annual leave cannot be utilized to secure approval of CTD.
6. Employees may use advanced annual leave in lieu of sick leave subject to advance approval. Such “in-lieu of” use of advanced annual leave is subject to the same requirements had sick leave been requested and approved.
Advanced Annual Leave. Requests for advanced annual leave will be submitted in writing to the supervisor. Final approval authority will be made at the appropriate level. When the decision is made, the supervisor will notify the employee within two (2) workdays. Advance leave may be granted up to the number of hours the employee will accrue within the remaining leave year. EMPLOYER will consider request for advanced annual leave fairly and objectively on a case-by-case basis.
Advanced Annual Leave. 1. A permanent employee who expects to remain in service through the leave year may request advancement of annual leave in an amount not to exceed that which the employee will accrue for the remainder of the leave year. The Employer may grant the request.
2. An employee who wishes to request advancement of annual leave shall submit through the Time and Attendance System and provide a written explanation of the reason for the request.
Advanced Annual Leave. Requests for advanced annual leave may be made by employees to their supervisor and will be considered in a fair and objective manner in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
Advanced Annual Leave. In accordance with applicable regulation the Agency has discretion to advance annual leave to an employee in an amount not to exceed the amount the employee would accrue within the leave year. The Agency will not advance annual leave to an employee when it is known (or reasonably expected) that the employee will not return to duty, e.g., when the employee has applied for disability retirement. Before granting advanced annual leave, the approving authority will consider such matters as the expectation of return to duty, the need for the employee's services, and the benefits to the agency of retaining the employee.
Advanced Annual Leave. Provided that workload permits, the supervisor may grant an employee’s request for advanced annual leave in situations where the employee lacks sufficient leave to cover the period being requested, but will earn enough leave to cover the amount of the advance by the end of the leave year. Before granting advanced annual leave, the Employer shall consider matters such as the expectation of return to duty, the need for the employee’s services, and the benefits to the Employer of retaining the employee.
Advanced Annual Leave. At any time during the year, a bargaining unit employee may request the annual leave to his/her credit plus advanced annual leave, i.e., the leave that will accrue during the remainder of the current leave year. Advanced annual leave is not an employee entitlement. Advanced annual leave may be denied, if the Employer determines that the bargaining unit employee may not be able to earn the leave to be advanced during the leave year. Advanced annual leave may also be denied on the same basis as accrued annual leave, i.e., if work requirements do not permit use of advanced annual leave for the period requested. If advanced annual leave is granted, but is not earned later during the year, a corresponding refund of money will be required, except in the case of death of the employee, removal for disability, disability retirement, or entrance on active military duty with restoration rights as governed by DOJ Order 1630.1B.
Advanced Annual Leave. Annual leave may be advanced to Employees up to the amount that would be earned during the balance of the current leave year. Advanced Annual Leave can be used for personal reasons (excluding vacation), emergency purposes, or in lieu of sick leave. Employees shall submit Standard Form OPM 71.
Advanced Annual Leave. Annual leave which will accrue during the leave year will normally be made available to all full-time employees at the beginning of the leave year for use during the year in accordance with applicable leave regulations. Use of such leave may be denied when it is unlikely that the employee will accrue such leave during the leave year, based on either information provided by the employee or a pending action to terminate his/her employment.
