Assistant Professor. An Assistant Professor is a member of a Faculty of the University who shall ordinarily have the following minimum qualifications:
(a) A doctoral degree;
(b) Aptitude for teaching university students. The doctoral requirement may be waived if the Candidate has a record of suitable teaching, scholarship as defined in Article 1.1(n); or, in lieu of such a record, has professional qualifications and experience to enable him/her to make an appropriate academic contribution to the University.

Assistant Professor. An Assistant Professor shall be offered a contract for one academic year subject to termination procedures specified in this Agreement and to the procedures for tenure review set forth below. An Assistant Professor may be offered subsequent annual contracts as specified below. The cumulative years of appointment in the ranks of Instructor and Assistant Professor shall not exceed seven, except as specified in the tenure section below.
Assistant Professor. Appointment or promotion to the rank of assistant professor shall be based on evidence indicating promise of teaching performance of a high order of effectiveness and professional growth and achievement, including the ability to conduct valuable research.
Assistant Professor a) Doctor's degree in subject field; or master's degree in subject field, plus at least fifteen (15) graduate hours beyond the master's degree in the subject field and five (5) years professional experience, or

Assistant Professor. The qualifications for promotion to Assistant Professor shall be possession of an earned doctorate or its equivalent as specified in Article 12.83 (a). According to whether all degree requirements are successfully completed before or after 31 December, such promotion shall become effective either the previous 1 July or the following 1 July.
Assistant Professor. 17.3.1 “Assistant Professors” have the following qualifications:

Assistant Professor. Consistent with the discipline, a BUFM with the rank of Assistant Professor:
2.2.1.1. Shall either hold an appropriate doctoral degree or, in those fields where the doctorate is not the typical terminal degree, the appropriate terminal degree from an accredited college or university. If recommended by two-thirds of the faculty of the academic unit, and with concurrence of the ▇▇▇▇ and ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor may be made to a candidate who holds a master’s degree provided that the faculty member completes the degree within one year of initial appointment date, as specified in the appointment letter. Failure to complete the required terminal degree within one year of initial appointment shall be grounds for termination after one additional year of service and the faculty member shall not be further considered for tenure. If the appointment letter from the ▇▇▇▇ requires completion of the terminal degree prior to the initial appointment and the faculty member fails to complete it, this shall be grounds for termination at the completion of the first year of service and the faculty member shall not be further considered for tenure.
2.2.1.2. Shall have evident ability as a teacher/librarian;
2.2.1.3. Shall give evidence of ability to do scholarly/creative activity; and
2.2.1.4. Shall give evidence of the potential to make contributions to the University, community, and/or profession.
