ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECKOFF. 8.01 Neither the Hospital nor the Association will compel employees to join the Association. The Hospital will not discriminate against any employee because of Association membership or lack of it and will inform all new employees of the existence of the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Association. 8.02 The Association agrees that, subject to Association policies, it will make membership in the Association available to all employees covered by this Agreement on the same terms and conditions as are applicable to other members of the Association. 8.03 The Hospital will deduct from each employee covered by this Agreement an amount equal to regular dues and fees, as directed by the Association, and in accordance with the following: a. Dues shall be deducted from each pay period, and, in the case of newly hired employees, such deductions shall begin at the commencement of their employment. b. The amount of regular dues and fees shall be those authorized by the Association and the Association shall notify the Hospital of any changes thereto. Such notification shall be the Hospital’s conclusive authority to make the deductions specified. c. In consideration of deducting and forwarding Association dues by the Hospital, the Association agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Hospital against any claims or liabilities arising or resulting from the operation of this Article. 8.04 The collection, deduction, and remittance of Association dues and fees shall be directed to the Association as follows: a. The total amount deducted from each employee shall be remitted to the Association by the 15th of the month following the month in which such deductions were made, and the Hospital shall include with each remittance the following information for each employee: i. Name; ii. Rate of pay; iii. Amount of Association dues and Association fees deducted and remitted on behalf of the employee; and, iv. Employment status. b. The monthly remittance shall be accompanied by a list of new employees hired since the last remittance, if any, and shall include the following information for each new employee: i. Address; ii. Telephone number; iii. Date of hire; and iv. Employment Status (Temporary/Permanent, Full-time/Part- time). c. The Hospital shall annually report on an employee’s T-4 form the amount of Association dues and fees deducted and remitted to the Association on the employee’s behalf in that year. 8.05 Employees who cannot support the Association because o...
ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECKOFF. 11 Each employee subject to this Agreement, who, on the effective date of this Agreement, is a member of 12 the Association in good standing shall, as a condition of employment, maintain membership in the 13 Association in good standing during the period of this Agreement.
ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECKOFF. Section 13.1 On the effective date of this agreement, each employee subject to this agreement, and each employee hired after the effective date of this agreement shall, as a condition of employment, become members of the Association within 30 work days of the effective date of this agreement or within 30 work days of the hire date, whichever is applicable. Such employee shall then maintain membership in the Association in good standing during the period of this agreement. Section 13.2 The parties recognize that an employee should have the option of declining to participate as a member in the Association, yet contribute financially to the activities of the Association in representing such employee as a member of the collective bargaining unit. Therefore, as an alternative to, and in lieu of the membership requirements of the previous section of this article, an employee who declines membership in the Association may pay to the Association each month a service charge as a contribution towards the administration of this agreement in an amount equal to the regular monthly dues. This service charge shall be collected by the District in the same manner as monthly dues. 13.2.1 In order to safeguard the right of an employee to object to payment of dues to an Association on religious grounds, such employee may have his/her dues sent to a non-religious charity agreed upon by the employee and the Association providing the employee submits documentary proof to the Association satisfactorily showing that such dues violates the tenants of the church or religious institution to which such employee belongs. Should the Association and employee not agree on the non-religious charity, the matter shall be appealed to the Public Employment Relations Commission for resolution.

Members may sign and deliver to the employer an Assignment of Wages Form. This form shall authorize deductions of membership dues and assessments of the Association. Such authorization shall continue in effect from year to year unless the employee provides a signed and dated letter of resignation of membership to the Association. The Association will forward the names of employees who have submitted letters of resignation from the Association to the District in a timely manner. The District will provide a list of new employees at the request of the Association.

Nothing contained in this Agreement shall require Association membership of employees who object to such membership based on a bona fide religious tenets or teachings of a church or religious body of which such employee is a member. Such employee shall pay an amount not greater than regular dues to a non-religious charity or other charitable organization mutually agreed upon by the employee and the Association. If the employee and the Association cannot agree on such matter, the Public Employment Relations Commission shall designate the charitable organization. Section 15.4. An employee who refuses to become a member of the Association in good standing or pay the service charge or charitable contribution in accordance with the previous sections shall at the option of the Association, be discharged from employment by the District subject to two (2) weeks notice to the employee. ...
ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECKOFF. Section 15.1 The Federal Way Professional-Technical Employees Association is recognized as the official bargaining agent for all employees performing work within the unit covered by this contract in the Federal Way Public Schools, District # No. 210 and it is agreed that all employees coming under this contract become members of this Association as a condition of employment after thirty (30) days of employment for new employees and within thirty (30) days of the signing of this contract for present employees, except as provided in Section 15.2. Section 15.2 The right of non-association of employees based on a bona fide religious ▇▇▇▇▇ or teaching shall be protected. An employee exercising the right to a bona fide religious objection shall pay an amount of the money equivalent to regular Association dues to a non-religious charity or charitable organization mutually agreed upon by the employee affected and the Prof-Tech Association. If this payment is not made through payroll deduction the employee shall furnish written proof to the Association that such payment has been made. ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP AND CHECKOFF. 4.01 It is agreed and understood by the parties hereto that there shall be a compulsory check off as a condition of employment for all employees who come within this Bargaining Unit to which this agreement applies and it shall continue during the period of this contract. 4.02 The treasurer of the City of Greater Sudbury shall deduct the amount of Association dues, L.T.D. and life insurance premiums certified by the Association for all employees covered by Article 1 from the bi-weekly pay of each member. 4.03 Within a reasonable time after the making of each such deduction, the sum so deducted shall be forwarded to the treasurer of the Association.
