Backflow Clause Samples

The Backflow clause establishes requirements and responsibilities related to the prevention of reverse flow of water or other substances into a potable water supply. Typically, this clause mandates that the party responsible for a property or facility must install and maintain appropriate backflow prevention devices, such as check valves or air gaps, to protect the water system from contamination. By setting these standards, the clause helps ensure the safety and integrity of the water supply, addressing the risk of pollution or health hazards caused by unintended backflow.
