BARGAINING UNIT MEMBER EVALUATIONS. A. All monitoring or observation of the work of each bargaining unit member shall be conducted in person and with the full knowledge of the bargaining unit member. B. Bargaining unit member evaluation shall be by formal observation of bargaining unit member work. Observations shall be for periods of time that accurately sample the bargaining unit member’s work. Each bargaining unit member, upon his/her employment or at the beginning of the school year, whichever is later, shall be apprised of the specific criteria upon which he/she will be evaluated. Evaluations shall be by personal observation conducted by the bargaining unit member’s immediate supervisor. C. All evaluations shall be reduced to writing and a copy given to the bargaining unit member within ten (10) days of the evaluation. If the bargaining unit member disagrees with the evaluation, he/she may submit a written response, which shall be attached to the file copy of the evaluation in question. If a supervisor believes a bargaining unit member is doing unacceptable work, the reasons therefore shall be set forth in specific terms, as shall an identification of how the member is to improve, and of the assistance to be given by observation reports, failure to again note a specific deficiency shall be interpreted to mean that adequate improvement has taken place. D. Following each formal evaluation, which shall include a conference with the evaluator, the bargaining unit member shall sign and be given a copy of the evaluation report prepared by the evaluator. In no case shall the bargaining unit member’s signature be construed to mean that he/she necessarily agrees with the contents of the evaluation. All written evaluations are to be placed in the bargaining unit member’s personnel file. E. Near the completion of the probationary period, an evaluation of the bargaining unit member’s work shall be completed, following the procedure of this provision. F. In the event a bargaining unit member is not continued in employment, the employer will advise the bargaining unit member of the specific reasons therefore, in writing, with a copy to the Union. G. Each bargaining unit member’s evaluation shall include at the conclusion of the report a general statement concerning the total work performance of the bargaining unit member being evaluated.

BARGAINING UNIT MEMBER EVALUATIONS. A. The District retains sole responsibility for the evaluation and assessment of the job performance of each bargaining unit member and, except as required by law, the implementation and administration of the procedures for such evaluation and assessment is solely within the discretion of the District. For the purposes of this article, both parties agree that the following terms are to be defined as follows: 1. Formal Observation - a period of inspection during which the observer records information relating to the employee's job performance. 2. Assessment - the professional interpretation of the observer's written observation records by the observer relating to the District's performance standards. 3. Evaluation - the professional conclusion by the observer, based upon the observations and stated in writing, regarding whether or not the employee acceptably meets District standards.
BARGAINING UNIT MEMBER EVALUATIONS. The purpose of the employee evaluation is to promote open and honest communication between the employee and his/her evaluator so that a mutual understanding of the expectations of both the employee and the evaluator may be reached. Assistance to be provided to the employee in making such improvements will also be in the written evaluation. E. Employees may submit written comments to be attached to any employee evaluation which is performed by the Employer. F. A written evaluation shall be completed on each employee at the conclusion of the employee's probationary period. Failure to complete such an evaluation shall be deemed as evidence that the employee's work is satisfactory. G. The evaluation shall be on the approved form (Appendix A). H. Failure of the Administration to conduct an evaluation for a given fiscal year shall equate to a satisfactory evaluation for the employee.
