Common use of Change of Shift Allowance Clause in Contracts

Change of Shift Allowance. (a) In the case of an Employee who changes from working on one shift to working on another shift, the time of commencement of which differs by 4 hours or more than from that of the first, shall be paid a change of shift allowance set out in Appendix 2, as appropriate. (b) The Change of Shift Allowance will not be payable in the following circumstances: (i) where Healthscope agrees to a request in writing or via Healthscope’s Workforce Management Platform for a change of shift made by one or more Employees; (ii) Where a part-time Employee agrees to work “extra” shift(s) in addition to those rostered or worked regularly otherwise; (iii) Where the change of shift is by mutual agreement; (iv) Where the change of shift occurs within the performance of a self- rostering system, whereby rosters are determined based on Employees’ specified preferred days of work; or (v) Where there is a break of 48 hours between rostered shifts inclusive of all leave, weekends, accrued days off, rostered days off and public holidays.
