Compensatory Time Accrual Clause Samples

The Compensatory Time Accrual clause defines how employees can earn and accumulate compensatory time off in lieu of overtime pay. Typically, this clause outlines the conditions under which extra hours worked translate into time off, such as specifying eligible roles, the accrual rate (e.g., one hour off for each hour of overtime), and any limits on how much compensatory time can be banked. Its core function is to provide an alternative to overtime pay, offering flexibility for both employers and employees in managing work hours and compensation.

Parent conferences as used herein are those parent conferences in addition to those found on the school calendar as adopted by the Board. The requirement of “prior mutual agreement” may be met by the principal establishing a building policy. b. In the event a principal assigns a teacher to perform duties which require him/her to return to school for evening functions (e.g. open houses, individual parent conferences, other such functions), time spent at such assignments shall be accruable to compensatory time. This does not preclude a teacher from applying for compensatory time accrual for other duties beyond the forty (40) hour workweek. Time spent at these functions is not subject to additional financial compensation. c.
