Department Procedures. The following procedures shall be adhered to by a Department in considering a Candidate for renewal of appointment, promotion or tenure. All members participating in this procedure are to treat information received and exchanged as confidential.
Department Procedures. Each Department Head may adopt internal procedures for stand-by and call-back that are consistent with this Article. Such procedures are subject to the meet and confer process. The parties further agree to complete the meet and confer process on the internal procedures for stand-by and call-back in the Public Works Department by no later than January 1, 2017. This process shall include, but is not limited to the rate of compensation for an employee that may not be able to complete his/her full week of stand-by assignment and the employee who may be assigned for partial coverage.
Department Procedures. A. To involve Members in the decision-making process regarding matters of departmental concern, department heads, chairs, and directors shall provide not less than thirty (30) calendar days for department Member input before the following: 1. Forwarding a new course or curriculum to the ▇▇▇▇ or next level of course/curricular review; 2. Forwarding a revision of an existing course or curriculum to the ▇▇▇▇ or next level of course/curricular review; 3. If the department head, chairs, and directors must take action in less than thirty (30) days or learns of the need to take action such that it is impracticable to provide thirty (30) days written notice, they shall provide the opportunity for input as soon as reasonably practicable. 1. Failure to provide such opportunity shall not be the basis for either delay of such action or for overturning such action. 2. When less than thirty (30) days written notice is given, the Member may respond directly to the ▇▇▇▇/▇▇▇▇▇▇▇/vice president for Academic Affairs. C. Before the Employer makes a final decision in the hiring of a department head, chair or program director, department Members will be offered an opportunity to: 1. Submit a recommendation to the ▇▇▇▇ on the expertise and/or credentials for the position; 2. Interview candidates; and 3. Review and submit recommendations regarding the credentials and suitability of the candidates. D. Any referendum or vote on department matters used to determine the view of the majority of the Members of a department shall be limited to the Members of that department. E. A rotation list needs to be established and, if needed, to determine course schedules, assignments, and, where applicable, overloads, office assignments, release time, stipends, etc., the initial rotation shall be based on the seniority of the affected Members. A new Member is added to the bottom of the rotation list as it exists on the first day they report for work as a bargaining unit Member. F. If all other factors are relatively equal, subject to 18.B.2 and 18.B.4, consideration will first be given by the ▇▇▇▇, then department head, chair, or director to the best qualified candidates among those available from the Members within the seniority group before g...

All members participating in this procedure are to treat information received and exchanged as confidential. The Candidate shall be notified in writing by the Chairperson at least two weeks before the initial Department meeting to consider the application. The application with supporting material as defined in and shall be made available to the Department for review and inspection at least two (2) weeks prior to the initial Department meeting to consider the application. Any additional evidence will be made available to the Department upon receipt. The Candidate shall have the right to appear on own behalf at the outset of the Department meeting considering candidacy and to present such oral and written evidence as deems relevant. Written evidence, as listed in and above, shall be made available to the Candidate one week before the initial Department meeting to consider the application. This does not preclude the Department examining additional evidence, written or oral, including letters of reference and such evidence, if negative in character, shall be summarized to the Candidate in a draft report (see paragraph (e) below). The Candidate shall be invited to respond to this report. The Department shall maintain a record of attendance, appearances and decisions, and a dossier of all documents consulted. The Department shall prepare a written draft of its report and shall communicate the draft and the date on which it intends to make its final recommendation to the Candidate to provide an opportunity for response by before such date. The Chairperson shall transmit, in writing, the Department's final report, recommendation, and detailed statement of reasons for its judgement, to the appropriate ▇▇▇▇, the Academic Vice-president as chairperson of the University Review Committee, and the candidate. The Chairperson shall also submit to the ▇▇▇▇, for transmission to the Academic Vice-president, copies of all documentary evidence presented to and considered by the Department. In the event a Department Chairperson is being assessed, the Department shall elect a substitute Chairperson who will preside over Departmental proceedings concerned exclusively with the assessment of the Chairperson and perform such other duties in connection with the Department's consideration of the case as would ordinarily be undertaken by the Departmen...
Department Procedures. Physicians in the Department shall render services within the scope of his/her training and responsibility, and within the standards of good emergency medical practice in Hospital’s community to patients arriving at the Department. The following procedures shall apply, subject to the circumstances occurring in the Department and Physician’s independent medical judgment: (a) If the patient so requests, his/her personal physician shall be called and be given the opportunity to treat the patient unless doing so in the Physician’s opinion delays needed treatment that would jeopardize the life or health of the patient. However, if the personal physician does not arrive within a reasonable period of time, the Physician shall proceed with such treatment as deemed necessary under the circumstances. (b) In the event the Physician on duty determines that specialist services, consultant services, or follow-up are necessary, the Physician on duty shall refer the patient in accordance with Medical Staff policies in effect. (c) Physicians shall assist Hospital to provide complete follow-up instructions for patients within the Department. (d) These procedures are subject to modification by Hospital, after consulting with Group. Hospital agrees to provide Group a copy of any such modifications.
Department Procedures. CRNA shall render services within the scope of his/her training and responsibility, and within the standards of good medical practice in Hospital’s community to patients arriving at the Department. (a) CRNA shall assist Hospital and Physicians to provide complete follow-up instructions for patients within the Department as needed. (b) These procedures are subject to modification by Hospital, upon approval of the Medical Staff. Hospital agrees to provide CRNA a copy of any such modifications.

Department Procedures. All operation procedures and policies affecting employees of the Police Department, the violation of which by an employee may result in disciplinary action against such employee, shall be in writing and copy of such procedure and/or policy shall be on file in the Police Department where it will be available to the employee.
