Directed to Work Overtime. An employee directed to work more than their normal hours of work (see Hours of Work Clause 6.1) or outside of their span of hours (except for planned meetings) shall be compensated at the rate of time and one half for the first two hours and double time thereafter. Time worked on the following days shall be paid as follows where no other compensation is paid: Saturday or non-working day - time and one half for the first two hours and double time thereafter Sunday - double time Public holiday - time and a half on time An employee, not in receipt of a standby allowance, recalled to work overtime after leaving the employer’s premises shall be paid a minimum four hours. The employee will not be expected to work the minimum period. This clause will not apply if it is customary for the employee to return to the work place outside of ordinary working hours.

  • Time Devoted to Work In performing the services contemplated under this Agreement, the services and the hours Consultant is to work on any given day will be on a mutually agreed upon basis, except for attendance at scheduled meetings, and City will rely upon Consultant to put in such number of hours as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the spirit and purpose of this Agreement. City understands that Consultant is engaged in the same or similar activities for others and that City may not be Consultant’s sole client or customer. However, Consultant represents and warrants that it is under no obligation or restriction, nor will it assume any such obligation or restriction, that would in any way interfere or be inconsistent with the services to be performed under this Agreement.

  • Payment for Working Overtime (a) For all work done outside ordinary hours, the rates of pay will be time and a half for the first two hours and double time thereafter. (b) Except as provided in clause 8.4, in computing overtime each day’s work will stand alone. (c) To avoid doubt, overtime provisions for shift workers are contained in clause 10.7.

  • Offer and Acceptance of Weekend Overtime (a) The Employer is committed to providing reasonable notice to Employees of an offer / cancellation of weekend overtime. To this end, notice will generally be provided prior to the normal meal break on Thursday. Where the Employer is unable to give such notice, the Employer may offer I cancel such overtime by notifying affected Employees before the finish time of ordinary hours on Friday. (b) Overtime will be offered on a work required basis. (c) Employees who accept an offer of weekend overtime will be obliged to attend. However, Employees may find themselves unable to fulfil their commitment to attend site. Such Employees will notify the Employer before the planned finishing time on Friday. (d) An Employee may refuse to work weekend overtime if the requirement to do so is plainly unreasonable having regard to: (i) the hours of work that will be worked by that Employee in the week of the weekend overtime; (ii) the amount of weekend overtime worked by the Employee within the previous six weeks; (iii) the Employee’s family responsibilities; and (iv) any other special circumstances peculiar to the Employee.

  • TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD Section 1 Work Day For the applicable agreement period, the normal work day will be seven and one-quarter (7 ¼) hours including arrival time fifteen (15) minutes before and departure time (15) minutes after the students’ school day. The normal work day will include uninterrupted prep time. The Building Principal, as authorized by the Superintendent, upon request of a teacher or group of teachers, may waive the requirement to remain fifteen (15) minutes after the school day for a specific day or days. It is recognized; however, that the proper performance of their duties may, on occasion, require these persons to work longer than the normal work day, i.e. for conferences, faculty meetings, department meetings, etc. Therefore, “mandatory meetings will occur two times per month and be no longer than 90 minutes in length, inclusive of the additional 15 minutes beyond the scheduled student school day. A schedule of the meetings will be distributed by June 30th of the previous school year, but may be changed at the discretion of the Principal with 48 hours’ notice.” Teachers will also remain at school after the fifteen (15) minutes described above, during one (1) day each calendar week for such periods of time as is necessary to provide students extra help, and/or to meet with parents or guardians, concerning the progress of their children or wards. No teacher shall be required to work more than a normal seven and one- quarter (7 ¼) hour day, including fifteen (15) minutes before and (15) minutes after the students’ school day, which will include uninterrupted prep time; this provision does not apply to other contractually agreed upon time and meetings. Should state law require a longer instructional day, or more days, the teachers shall work the added time and the parties shall immediately commence impact bargaining on the issue. This article does not purport to cover the arrival and departure time of teachers involved in special assignments. Section 2 Other Personnel Personnel other than classroom teachers will work at their assigned tasks for the length of the regular teachers' work day. The exact daily schedule will be worked out on an individual basis between the Administration and the employee with notification to the Association. Instructional Coaches are required to work an additional five (5) days at their per diem rate, beyond the work year for a total of 189 days. These days will be determined prior to the start of the new school year and at the discretion of the Superintendent and the Chief Academic Officer.
