Standby Allowance. 7.1 When employees are required by the Company to hold themselves available to protect the requirements of the service outside of regular working hours and on rest days, they will be paid a standby allowance in addition to their regular earnings. 7.2 The standby allowance will be the equivalent of 7.5 hours per week at the employee's straight time rate of pay. 7.3 Broken time for employees compensated on the basis of this Article 7 shall be based on
Standby Allowance. (a) Any employer may require an artisan or Division B employee to 'standby' on any Saturday and/or Sunday: Provided that such employee shall be entitled to notice, in writing, of not less than one week to that effect. (b) Whenever an employee is required to 'stand by' in terms of this sub-clause he shall be paid, irrespective of whether he is required to work while on 'standby', a 'standby' allowance of not less than R89.62 in respect of each day on which he is required to so 'standby'. Provided that whenever he is required to work whilst on 'standby', the 'standby' allowance shall not be set off against the remuneration payable in terms of this Agreement for such work. (c) An employee who is required to 'standby' shall present himself for duty within one hour of being called and, where he fails to present himself, the 'standby' allowance shall be forfeited. (d) The provisions of this clause shall not apply to employees who before the close of business on Friday enter into an Agreement with their employers to supervise shift changes of and/or collect cash from forecourt attendants on the succeeding Saturday or Sunday.
Standby Allowance. On occasion, there is a requirement for employees to be available for call out during non-working hours. When employees have been authorized for standby in a scheduled rotation or for specific circumstances by their management supervisor the following will apply; (i) Employees may be assigned the responsibility to be available to respond to authorized calls when not on shift. (ii) Pagers may be provided for this purpose. (iii) For each regular working day this employee is on call, the designated employee will be paid two hours wages at their regular rate of pay. (iv) For each non-working day the employee is on call, the designated employee will be paid three hours wages at their regular rate of pay. (v) If the employee is required to report to work as a result of a call, the employee will receive pay in accordance with Article 25(b) of this Agreement. (vi) If an employee is performing substitution for a position superior to their regular position, standby will apply if authorized through scheduled rotation for the substituted position.
Standby Allowance. A standby allowance for any maintenance trades staff, including relief staff, designated as being on standby during evenings, weekends and statutory holidays shall be $100.00 bi-weekly.
Standby Allowance. 22.1 Employees who are required to be available for emergency and/or breakdown work at any time and are required to remain in communication must be paid standby allowance. These employees are termed "approved employees". 22.2 Standby work includes: (a) restoring continuity of supply (b) returning to safe and proper operating condition any plant or equipment that has broken down in service, or is likely to break down (c) carrying out urgent maintenance work that if not carried out an interruption to supply may occur. 22.3 Standby work does not include: (a) overtime that was arranged before an employee's ordinary finishing time; and/or (b) work which does not involve an emergency or breakdown situation. 22.4 Standby allowance is $114.40 per week. The allowance becomes $118.40 from the first pay period on or after 11 March 2010. 22.5 Approved" day workers who are called out and required to work overtime must be paid in accordance with clause 11, Overtime. They must receive a minimum payment of one hour at double time. 22.6 Approved" shift workers who are notified after leaving work must be paid in accordance with the said clause 11, if the overtime commences: (a) two hours or more before their ordinary commencing time: (i) double time when the overtime merges with their ordinary commencing time (ii) double time, with a minimum of three hours at single time, when the overtime does not merge with their ordinary commencing time. (b) less than two hours before their ordinary commencing time, the appropriate rate provided for in the said clause11. Additionally, in the case of non-merging overtime, the appropriate rate in the said clause 11 applies from the time of commencing overtime to the time Public Holidays Standby Availability 22.7 Employees required to be on standby, in accordance with the provisions of this clause, on a public holiday shall have a day added to their accrued annual leave entitlement. 22.8 Employees standing by: (a) must not be required to be constantly available beyond a period of four weeks if other employees are available for these duties; and (b) must have at least one weekend, comprising two consecutive days, off duty in each four weeks, without reduction in standby allowance if other employees are not available.
Standby Allowance. (1) Staff members as defined in Article 5(2) items (1) and (2), except for staff members as defined in Article 69, shall be entitled to remuneration of standby duties, which 1. from Monday to Saturday for each hour of standby duty between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. amounts to 1/240 of the applicable gross monthly salary as defined in Article 49 or Article 54, 2. from Monday to Saturday for each hour of standby duty between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. amounts to 1/180 of the applicable gross monthly salary as defined in Article 49 or Article 54, 3. on Sundays or public holidays amounts to 1/180 of the applicable gross monthly salary as defined in Article 49 or Article 54 for each of the first to the eighth hour of standby duty and 4. on Sundays or public holidays amounts to 1/120 of the applicable gross monthly salary as defined in Article 49 or Article 54 for each hour from the ninth hour of standby duty unless it has been agreed that such times be compensated by time off. (2) The standby allowance shall be paid in derogation of Article 49(10) and Article 54
Standby Allowance. 4.1 In view of the intermittent character of the work of certain Signal; Coordinators, Technicians, Leading Maintainers, Leading Mechanics, Maintainers, Mechanics, they may be paid in addition to their regular earnings for time actually worked, a stand-by allowance of 7 straight time hours per week at the applicable hourly rate of the job they occupy. The provisions of this Articles, will apply to employees eligible to receive standby allowance. The number of employees eligible to receive standby allowance will be determined by the Company and may be adjusted at the option of the Company. Any increase in the number of employees eligible to receive the standby allowance will be done in accordance with Article 9 of Agreement 11.6. 4.2 Employees subject to call under the terms of this Article will be paid in accordance with Article 6 for work performed outside of regular hours on regular work days, on call days and on rest days. 4.3 Employees shall be assigned to a call rotation protecting seven (7) days in a pay period. The employee assignment and call rotation to protect standby will be subject to change to meet operational needs. The terms and provisions governing the employee assignment and call rotation will be as locally arranged. 4.4 Employees will protect calls on call days and outside of regular hours as assigned. They will be available for calls unless they make suitable arrangements with the Signal Supervisor for call protection without involving additional expense to the Company and provide suitable notification to the calling bureau. 4.5 On rest days, employees will not be subject to call. However, they will be called, and if available may accept such call. 4.6 Only those employees assigned to report for duty on a General Holiday as per Appendix “C” of Collective Agreement 11.6 will be required to protect the standby coverage on that General Holiday. 4.7 Payment applicable to the General Holiday will be governed by Article 15. Payment involving standby and a General Holiday will be subject to the following understanding: a) An employee working on the General Holiday and subject to call will receive General Holiday payment as per Article 15 including payment at punitive rates for all time worked and will in addition receive eight (8) hours at straight time rates for being on call. b) An employee working on the General Holiday but not subject to call will receive only the General Holiday payment provided under Article 15. c) An employee subject to ...
Standby Allowance. Where operational requirements necessitate an employee to be on standby to react safely and immediately to any callout, a Standby Allowance shall be paid to any employee nominated by the Site Supervisor or Superintendent. This allowance shall be $13.78 for each standby period during a normal work- cycle, and $34.34 for each standby period of 24 hours during rostered days off.
Standby Allowance i) An employee on standby shall be paid three hundred dollars ($300.00) for the standby period.
